No, absolutely not. You're going to plateau and maybe even gain weight. Use this to figure out how much you should be eating to lose weight in a healthy way and keep it off: http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/

I'm pasting this from another thread I responded to since you guys have the same issue. I plateaued at 138 pounds for 1-2 months eating 1400 cals a day and working out 6 times a week for an hour each session (4 cardio, 2 weights). I did not eat my exercise calories back. Then people told me to eat more and rest more…

Susie, I felt the same way. I have struggled with weight all of my life. I tried not eating very much. I have tried eating not very much and working out a LOT. But I have never tried working out a reasonable amount and eating what I should be eating. I was sure I'd gain like 5 pounds during the week I ate 1940 cals per day…

I plateaued at 138 pounds for 1-2 months eating 1400 cals a day and working out 6 times a week for an hour each session (4 cardio, 2 weights). I did not eat my exercise calories back. Then people told me to eat more and rest more (overtraining). I took one week off and ate my full 1940 calories (what I supposedly burn in…

I may rest for a week and just eat ~1600 before restarting. Good idea?
-
Should I just jump to eating 1800 or ease into it? And what's a good yoga program? This sounds like an interesting plan
-
Should I eat 1600-1800 and still do 4x 1 hour of cardio and 2x 45 mins of weight training or change up the routine?
-
I have 24.5% body fat currently :( I'd like to be at least down to 20%.
-
Rainbow, thanks so much ! Can I add you? Also how can I "fix" myself now? What is a good workout regime I should change into? Do you still do cardio?
-
Tina, I didn't start working out at all until 4-5 months ago...as for muscls, I dunno, I still look pretty flabby! I'm definitely going to try that florastor. I don't care how much it is if it will put my body back on track. I might actually had a stomach flu...this started happening after a big Chinese wedding dinner
-
Oh I've been eating clementines, but I didn't log them -_- I've never really stopped eating processed foods though so why was it okay for 4 months but not anymore?
-
Yeah I've been eating like 100 more probably. My trainer friend put me on the higher 1500 cal diet rather than 1200 but said not to eat back exercise cals. I also take a rest day per week and I've been working out probably on average 2 hours per day since two week ago--up from 1 hour.

Bahaha horrible wannabe singer. It's a shame that she's only 16 and already an irrevocable piece of trash in today's Hollywood society.
-
Wait, wouldn't he ask you if you were pregnant even if you didn't look it anyway? I think it's part of their job to do that by default!
-
What brand of taco stuff do you use? I love tacos but tortillas always scare me D:
-
Oh wow, you guys have some great ideas. Keep them coming!
-
How do you not get the 'freezer' taste when you guys freeze extra meats? I always get the not-so-fresh tastes :(
-
this is about 4.5 pounds for your encouragement i hope :)
-
Yep, when I started I could barely run a tenth of a mile, now I can run 5.5 miles straight (an hour). I have NEVER been a runner so it definitely works. After the third week though I kind if went my own way and graduated about two weeks earlier Than just 3x a week. Just dont run if your body is crazy sore and when you do…

I just dread the doctor's scale xD
-
If I put on MFP that I want to lose 1 pound/week, it tells me to eat 1200 a day D: MFP is trying to further starve me apparently
-
Haha, I'm actually the one with the spring scale because my digital scale kept annoyingly "remembering" previous weights. I calibrated my spring scale with a 20 pound weight though and when I went to the doctors the numbers on the scales were pretty close. I HOPE that my scale is right!
-
Hmmm so how much do you think I should net at 5'2" 133?
-
It would feel so weird to eat all of my exercise calories because if eating 1300 without exercise makes me maintain, then shouldn't a 1600 calorie minus 300 from exercise still cause me to maintain as well?
-
I wish there were a machine that could tell me how many calories I actually need per day :(
-
I'm eating like half-little more than half of my exercise calories back. Should I eat them all? O_o
-
Thanks tsosbe, I might actually have to talk to someone about this if I don't lose in another month of being good and exercising (hopefully I wouldn't have pulled out too many hairs then...). I have really large thighs and love handles and arms and I don't like them xD A BMI of 22-23 is what I'm shooting for :)

I did 800 calories last summer and didn't lose much at all...all I did was mess up my metabolism so that when I went back to eating normally (1200 cals), I GAINED weight. I don't know how long it will take for my body to recover and to burn calories normally. It's still not doing it right, I think.
-
Hey guys, I've been eating at 1200 cal/day now for two months and I still haven't lost any weight...I haven't gained any either, so I guess if I'm going to be maintaining that I'd rather be able to eat 1200 than 800, haha...I'm trying to lose weight though! The only thing is that I go over my fat and sugar fairly often,…

Thanks guys, I'm going to try to eat 50 within the 1200 and let you guys know how it goes. You guys are an awesome support group. I'll also fill this huge bottle of water and make sure that I finish it everyday because I really haven't been drinking enough at all.
