Please don't name your son Seamus. You are really just asking for jokes.

You didn't really lose 9 pounds (of fat anyway) in five days to begin with. That's a calorie deficit of 31,500 calories, 6,300 a day. You've just added some water weight back. It's good that your excited, but 95 pounds is a long road. Keep to your plan and everything will work out just fine. The more you get caught up in…

I do believe the non food chemicals (like the ones found in diet sodas) reduce the liver's efficiency and this in turn keeps the liver from burning as much as fat as possible. Now here is the key. Most diets fail because people constrict themselves either by the food they can't eat or with their own deadlines. So in my…

That seems like a good number to start with. You will lose quite a bit of weight quickly if you stick to it, then it will start to level off. At that point to you add some exercise and eat more calories.
-
It's likely just a swing at the starting weight and ending weight. Maybe you were a little too dehydrated when you started and holding too much water when you ended the week. No worries it wil even out. Just keep to your plan.

hmmmmmmmmmmmm, Interesting. First I don't anyone is a bad mom because they don't have a TV in the house, that's dumb. The only concern I would have is maybe the kids miss out on some of the pop culture? It could make it harder for them to relate to other kids? Maybe? Hard to say. But bad mom? I think not.

It always sucks when you have to re-lose weight. but once you do, it will be all good.

I weight myself every morning. I don't get too caught up with sudden drops or increases, but overall it's nice to see the progression. Guess when I don't weight myself everyday? When I've had a couple of bad days. What does that tell you? It gives me accountability. Everyone is different however, so to each their own.

That's all fine and good. The fact is that if you can do it without surgery you are better off. If you can't, then by all means get the surgery.
-
Take it as a blessing in disguise. Not to discourage anyone who has had the surgery, but it's obviously better if you can lose it on your own. You reach your goal without any of the risks and negatives invovled with the surgery. Keep it up!

I had close to 150 to lose too. I'm down 54 pounds after 120 days. You can do it, just stick to your plan!

I personally don't see much negativity. The majority of people are positive and helpful, sorry you havent had the same experience.

Actually the Liver is the main fat burner. However, if the Liver is busy filtering, it's not as efficient burning fat. Drinking lots of water makes it easier for the liver to filter and thus more efficient burning fat.
-
You actually exhale it.

IF you are doing everything right, than you are just retaining water due to the exercise. Just keep going and don't worry about the scale. You called this a journey, but you're freaking out afer how many days? Eat right, exercise and everything will happen in due time. Just keep going, it will all come out in the wash.

I'm REALLY hungry after my morning workout. I eat soemthing small for breakfast and then head to the gym. I usually eat protein heavy food afterwards.
-
The fact of the matter is this isnt a short term journey for 99% of the people on here. Do what works for YOU. That being said, there is no reason to starve yourself.

Thanks to everyone for all the positive comments! For me it was (still is) really motivating to see these before and after pictures, I hope it does the same for the newer members. There are countless threads like this one and it goes to show that everyone can do this! Good luck to all.

You know there's major progress when the before picture looks like it's been enlarged, but you didn't get the aspect ratio the same (it's looks too wide). GREAT job, keep it up!

Honestly, exercise less, eat less. This will work for a while, but eventually you'll want to build some muscle mass (firm up) Your diet is by far the biggest contributor to weight loss. Have you tried walking? Get some music, listen to the radio, whatever entertains you.

Good friends are always a help. A couple of tips from me (110 days in, 50 pounds lost) - Log everything! If you have a bad day, it happens, but log everything! Drink lots of water! - If you do have a bad day, it's not the end of the world, just get right back at it and did I mention, LOG EVERYTHING! - Find some good…
