 Yesterday, my son decided to share whatever it was he had earlier in the week. Some 24 hour type of bug. I'm feeling a bit better today but will probably be another day or so before I'm back to normal. The only thing that doesn't suck about being sick and not being able to eat much of anything? Losing weight rather…

Thank you!

Start: 210 Current: 199 !!!!!!!!! My first goal was to be under 200 before Christmas, and I made it, a week early!! My overall goal is around 140, I'm thinking by mid-summer. I just need to look at the calendar and set my next (realistic) short term goal. AND, I need to get a bit more strict again about watching the…

Hello everyone. I hope you are all doing well. Congrats to those of you who have lost weight!! You are all such an inspiration and great motivation to me. :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: Oh, this past weekend (plus Monday) was terrible for me - well, not altogether terrible, as you'll see shortly - but, I didn't have a…

Cheryl, Congrats on your 25 lb loss!!! That's awesome and very inspiring! Thanks! I've been logging my exercise, but I just got to thinking a bit ago, I probably get more exercise in than I think sometimes, because I'm rarely sitting down for very long when I'm at home. I'll sit down for a little while, but then I get up…

icandoit, I've been noticing lately the amount of sodium in many things that I eat or that are potential buys. I had a meal the other week all planned out, was partway through cooking it, then I happened to look at the sodium content of everything I was preparing. Man, it was so high. Anyway, thanks for this very useful…

It's been nearly a week since I last posted on this thread, and nearly two weeks since I first joined MFP. I'm very happy to say that I've lost 7lbs total so far. It hasn't been easy at times, sticking to the new lifestyle of eating healthy and exercising, and I know I could be doing better on the exercise part. However, I…

I don't know what type of workouts you enjoy, but I really get into kickboxing as a cardio workout, so Gilad's QuickFit System was a good buy for me. Gilad has several other workout DVDs as well.

Don't beat yourself up too badly over things like this! It's alright to indulge in things that are perhaps not so great for us, or things we really love, every now and then. Just remember, nobody's perfect! I know I went a little over my calories yesterday, but I didn't sweat it. I was hungry, so I ate a little more. It…

kistinbee, Sounds like this may be quite helpful. I had my whole grains this morning, so it looks like I'm on the right track... Thanks for sharing this information! ~ Chandra

Thanks, age1389. Luckily my visitor only sticks around for about 3 days, 4 max. So at least I (hopefully!) won't have long to wait.

Welcome. Sounds like you've got the right attitude! Best of luck to you and your friend. :flowerforyou:

mechanicmom, Thanks!! It's always nice to hear about others' experiences, kinda puts things back into perspective for me. I'm so happy that my efforts are making a difference, even if I don't feel it in the places I really want to just yet. I'm not letting my impatience get the best of me this time!! Again, thanks for the…

Welcome! In the week and a half that I've been here, I've found the people here on the message boards to be very supportive and friendly. Best of luck to you! :flowerforyou:

I'm really hoping my scales at home are accurate. If so, it means I've lost around five pounds in about a week and a half. However, although I'm feeling better and have more energy from eating more healthfully and exercising, I don't feel like I've really lost much at all... yet. My pants are still tight as…

Thanks! My screenname... it comes from a favorite song by my favorite band... "Suspended in Dusk" by Type O Negative. The song is basically about a man quite recently turned vampire. Anyway, the 03 refers to the year I first started using this particular screenname here and there. What's up with the river being so high?…

Well said, Eve23. :flowerforyou:

Thanks!! Weight is down another little bit as of this morning, coming close to 3 pounds total lost now. I plan on sticking around here... I love the motivation and support this place, and everyone here on the message boards, offers. Sometimes you just have to have some ice cream, ya know?? Tomorrow (well, today…

I think I've got my boyfriend talked into joining me on my challenge... only thing is, he won't run, so it may have to be the 5k walk for us, if he's to do it at all. Perhaps I could start out with the 5k walk then find a 5k run to do not too long after that. The reason my boyfriend was so willing to join me?... 2nd Annual…

Thanks!!

OK, so my arms AND my abs would need a lot of work before I could do it! ;o)

Thanks! I had a look on www.active.com, and I may have come up with something... May 17, 2008... I have the choice of a 10k run, a 5k run or a 5k walk. I think that since I have nearly six months before this date, that I may try for the 5k run.

I just had a look at the Firefly pose... omg... that's amazing. I know my arms would need a LOT of work before I could even begin to be able to do that... Best of luck in attaining this yoga asana!!
