  • Welcome! So happy you've joined us. I am in the 300s also. It's hard but we can all do it together!
  • I love turkey bacon and regular bacon. I rarely eat either but when I do have turkey bacon I buy butterball low sodium.
  • Well as usual I work on Thanksgiving, but my mom will cook and things will be ready for lunch. Luckily they live only minutes away from my work so I will get to celebrate and then head to work. I am off Saturday so I will cook a small turkey breast with some veggies for my husband and I. I will have to rely on pure will…
  • I love my food scale! Especially when products only list serving sizes in grams. My scale has brought me a long way on portion sizes. I'm getting better at estimating size now so I don't always use it. There have been times though where I was under estimating how much I could eat and other times I over estimated.
  • I do follow a plan, but it's something I tailored to fit my needs. I eat every 2 hours 200-300 calories to keep my metabolism going. I don't tell myself I can't have something cuz that leads me to binging, but I try to make healthy choices. I focus heavy on serving sizes. When needed I have a journal and will write out how…
  • I hate seeing those pics too! But I try to envision that being my pic some day and use it for motivation. It's hard, but no one is happy with their own body, not even the skinny folks
  • Definitely interested. My personal goal is 15 pounds by Christmas, anything to help me stay motivated to reach it.
  • I work afternoons all weekend...the joys of being a nurse. That means nothing gets done cuz I can't fall asleep until 2 or 3 a.m. and get up around 10. Just enough time to prepare meals/snacks for the day and get ready for work again. I'm off Monday and Tuesday so I will probably spend Monday cooking. Tuesday we are…
  • I like that picture idea!
  • I do weekly weigh ins and measure monthly.
  • Thanks, will totally check that out!
  • Go on Pinterest and look under their health and fitness. There is all kinda good things there.
  • I sometimes do the same thing. For awhile when I started or even now if I start to struggle, I will ask myself with every bite I take WHY am I eating this? I'm a huge emotional eater so this helped me identify some issues I needed to work on and find better ways to cope.
  • Thanks ladies. I'm enjoying the feedback. I definitely tend to get addicted to my scale and when it doesn't move the way I anticipate I definitely get discouraged. I'll probably stick to weekly weigh ins for now. It is a very unique and specialized process for each individual that is for sure.
  • Hi all. I've got about 175 to lose. Feel free to add me.
  • I drink lemon in my water to detox and burn extra calories. I eat spicy food throughout the day to boost metabolism. I utilize BE-DO-Have, Be committed, Do what it takes, Have what you want. Idle minds lead to busy mouths. I have a letter to myself from when I started back in January reminding me why I am doing this and…
  • I think it depends on the clothing and where you are losing most of the weight from. I'm losing from the top right now. I'm down 25 and went from 26/28 tops to 22/24, almost to 18/20. But I'm still in the same size pants. As soon as something gets big I get rid of it though, I don't want to ever fit it again.
  • It's possible it was a fluctuation in water weight. Your weight can differ up to 5 pounds on a daily basis from that. My guess though is that it was the walking. It's so good for you. People underestimate the good it does. Either way, Congrats!
  • Hi everyone! My name is Jamie. I am a married 28 year old female in need of support to meet my weight loss goals. I started at 354 and I'm currently 329. I've been committed to it since January but naturally I've had a lot of ups and downs. My husband and I want to start a family this time next year so I really want to get…
  • I've lost 26 so far, but need to lose well over 100. Definitely need all the positive support I can get.
  • I do 200-300 calorie meals/snacks every 2-3 hours. Drink water in between and stay busy. Usually if your mind and body are busy, you don't notice as much. If I do notice it's usually pretty close to time to eat again. Can't feel too hungry if you are always eating lol
  • It happens. Beating yourself up about it will only make you feel worse and increase your risk of eating more. I had two donuts yesterday but sometimes you need it. Just don't make it a habit
  • Sounds like you have some anxiety. Slowly reintroduce yourself. Ease yourself into it. Accidents can happen any where any time, crossing the street, eating a meal, at work, etc. That doesn't stop you from leaving the house every day to do these things. Tell yourself it's ok that you feel that way and you'll be more…
  • My husband never comments unless I ask him. He feels he doesn't need to as weight loss is a common topic of discussion in our home. Communicate with him. He can't read your mind and you cannot expect to get what you want if you haven't verbalized it. Try talking to him about your success and ask if he can notice the…
  • I too am a stress eater. Get in the habit of asking yourself WHY you are eating before taking a bite of anything. You cannot change the behavior unless you first recognize it and confront it. It's hard and tedious. I still slip up for sure, but I'm much better than I used to be. Also try to recognize triggers for your…
  • I typically acknowledge that it happened. Then I try to see WHY it happened and adjust my fitness plan accordingly if I see a pattern. Any time I go over I try to drink more lemon water the next day to detox a little. I do really well for 4-5 weeks at a time and then I have a week a bad days. As much as I want to lose…
