I've just signed up for my first Ultra 50km. Can add me too :)

Tomorrow will be my 2nd half, it's just a little more than a half and it's trail so i'm hoping for under 2:30. I've also signed up for number 3 which is May 18th. Since this is on road i'll be looking for under 1:55

Hey i've followed you. I love Strava!! I've tried getting all my running friends to sign up haha

When i was training for my 1st half it was my first ever race and i'd only been running for 4 months before the race. I did no strength training or speed work just following the training programme for 12 weeks and managed sub 2 hours. So to answer the above question.. No :)

Done my first flat 10km race yesterday - 52:45 - PR for me. Had a stitch from 4km in :( I can't seem to stop getting them.

Thank you for all your responses. Much appreciated. I had not considered volunteering but that sounds like a good option! Rethinking it all thanks to all of you guys i have decided i will pick another (I'm sure new ones will come up as it gets more popular here). I would have never run a Half Marathon without training for…

I've joined :)

I warm up with Toy soldiers, jumping jacks, lunges, butt kicks, high knees - that sort of thing. Then i have a good stretch afterwards :)

New Zealand 9.10pm (Wednesday 5th Feb) Because i've just been for a run and i'm logging my exercise :D

Another runner here :) Only been running a year but I've done a few races including a Half Marathon. Looking into ultra running once i get more hours to train for one.
-
Oh thanks so much! The chasing bit sounds like some good motivation. Last year there were only 20 the category i'll be in so we will see how it goes :)
-
So guys don't and girls do? My partner doesn't wear anything underneath but i always go with underwear

I've gone from a D to AA. I'm still coming to terms with losing my boobs and just having nipples basically. I may get an increase later on in life. I like the fact i'm in smaller sized tops and boobs don't get in the way when exercising :) (I have had children too by the way)

I haven't yet but i've only just started running this year. Nearly up to 400 miles in them so i'll change once they don't feel right anymore or i get weird pains :)
-
I'd love to do a few races next year. Mixture between duathlons, running and mountain biking. This will all come down to whether i'm studying full time next year and can manage my time wisely. I am signed up for a sprint duathlon on the 26th January (which i should be training for whoops)

I've done 1 half and i felt completely lost afterwards. I didn't know what to do with myself and i didn't have a workout/plan post run. I felt guilty i wasn't running like i was for training. It's just heading into summer here so we are opposite. I found it quite easy to run in the winter. I loved the rain keeping me cool.…

No not at all. I've only done one half and it was an out and back course. I found it extremely boring and felt sorry for the people doing the full around the course. I would never do it again. But then some people might really enjoy that sort of thing. Trying to find another half marathon which is scenic and doesn't go…

Check this forum out - Shows how to fix it. My runs do it too - http://www.dcrainmaker.com/2010/04/troubleshooting-your-heart-rate.html

Yep so i ended up getting a stitch in the race at 8km in.. Running downhill but on the opposite then i have been getting it on. Today my higher abs feel sore. Weak core?

Wow that is some dedication and hard work there. I have 2 and definitely don't have the definition that you have. Looks like i need to do some weights! Well done!

I have an old Nokia. As my Iphone broke (son threw it on the floor) and apparently i'm too clumsy to be allowed another one? Still confused but hey. At least i have a Garmin so i can track my running and cycling :)
-
I got a 2nd hand Garmin Forerunner 410 off trademe (came with the HRM) it's been awesome. I do both cycling and running so you can change sport modes on it to suit :)
-
I have the Garmin Forerunner 410. I like it because i can switch sport modes (running or cycling) I know some can't do that and because i do both its really handy :)

Thanks for all your responses. I found a race which has little hills nothing major and is a winding road so i wont be able to see miles ahead. Plus it doesn't turn around halfway and come back to where you started from :)

I know how you feel. I've had 2 kids. After my last one i got a lot of stretch marks - she was 9lb 3 and i'm only 5ft short. Anyway she is coming up 2 and i still have the stretch marks, not as bad as when she was born but my skin is very saggy around my stomach and i haven't toned up yet. *I am at my goal weight however*…

I did my first Half Marathon in June this year with a time of 1:57:55. I was so happy to come under 2 hours as when i started training i thought i was going to be around 2:30:00. It was my first ever running race since i started running in Feb.

Together for 4 years so far :)
