I make my 9-year-old run with me on my C25K days so the neighbors will think I'm "running" at HER pace!

I'm new to "running" (I'm doing a C25K program, but I wouldn't consider my faster intervals running just yet), too. I've been a walker for years. The breathing does become a habit once you get used to it. I breathe in when I land on my right foot for three footsteps, then breathe out when I land on my left foot for three…

At home I have no issue, but at work I do. It's likely your browser version. At home I have the latest Chrome, at work I have Internet Explorer 7 (I have no choice in the matter).

I also wear a bodymedia armband and even though I have it set to recognize that my arm is the dominant (even though it's not), it's still high. You can adjust your METs on the website to increase your threshold. After that, just estimate that it's probably still over-calculating for you (I know mine does by about 200-300…

Let's do this! I'm 30 years old, single mom of one. 5'4" CW: 171 GW: 145 I'm doing C25k and StrongLifts 5x5.

Not a setback if you make up for it in the next few days and stick to your normal routine. I had a bad exercise day yesterday and folowed it up with 20 McNuggets, plus a WHOLE medium fry. But I stayed beneath my calorie goal, and I'm back to "normal" today. I chalk it up to my monthly flux. I'm pretending it didn't happen…

When my BF of 10 months broke up with me, I didn't eat much for the following 3-4 months. Then when I hadn't found anyone to fill the hole, I started eating pasta (and only pasta) for dinner for the next 3-4 months. Now I'm kicking my butt for being an idiot and trying to lose the weight I gained.

When I worked as a Character Host at Disneyland. Helping folks meet Mickey, taking their pictures, getting his autograph. But the BEST part about that job was when I worked with Chip & Dale; we shared a break room with Tarzan. And those muscles were NOT painted on!

Request sent! 30 years old here, 26 pounds to go, single mom. You can do this!

I have a Pandora station based on Moves Like Jagger; it holds up pretty well for "running" (I'm on W2D1 of C25K).

Friend request sent! I think I'm on round 3?

Request sent! I'm in the same boat: I lose 15, I stop and gain it back. It's slowly sinking in that this is not a diet.

A lot of sodium is hidden. I went over my sodium limit yesterday and my biggest contributors were the vegetable juice I had with dinner (like a V8), the Gouda I had for dessert, and my frozen lunch (like a Lean Cuisine). If you find that some things have a lot of sodium but you can't give them up, then just eliminate what…

Would love to know your Alfredo recipe; I LOVE creamy sauces but the calories...OH the calories!

Yup, I'm 30, 5'4", 172lbs, just 3 pounds less than I was at 9 months pregnant with my daughter 10 years ago. Likely to be pregnant in the next 3 months, so trying to lose what I can to start healthier.

Totally relate. 30, mom of one, I keep losing and gaining the same 15 pounds, though I need to lose 25 from where I'm at now. It's not easy.

I'm 5'4", 171 and my scale said 35.8% this morning. How is it measuring it? Mine has metal strips on the outside edges that run and small (can't feel it) current through my feet and measures body fat % and water weight % based on the speed of return.

That's awesome! Gotta love when people you don't really see often notice the change. Way to go!

In! I've just started my weight loss attempt (again), so this will help me to keep going after I feel like it's too much! SW: 174lbs CW: 171.8 lbs GW (for Feb): 165 lbs Um...won't really comment on the weather. Southern California natives usually get eye rolls from the rest of country if we complain.

I've walked for 30 minutes, have one more 15 minute walk later this afternoon (work breaks), then starting W1D1 of C25K!

YESS!! I love when I can see my wrist bones!
-
I always notice it in my boobs and my fingers (weird, I know). My wrists are a great indicator of water retention. I've only lost 2 pounds, but I've lost 8 inches.

My 3x daily 14-minute walk around the outside of my office building only took 13 minutes today (same exact route every time) and my HR now stays under 140!

Thinking all of my efforts have gone to waste. I can't seem to control my food portions on the weekends and I can't burn enough calories M-F to make a difference. For the past 3 weeks I'm averaging 50 minutes a day of alternating cardio and circuit training and I've lost 0.8 lbs. I've lost inches, but all my pants still…

I have a rice cooker that has a steamer tray in it. I start my rice and then add the salmon into the steamer tray at the right time (brown and white cook different lengths). I might sprinkle a little dry seasonings on them (no salt added), but usually I just eat it as is.
