There is a study out in the Journal of Applied Science that was mentioned by Runner's World. The researchers found that the brain actually reduces the stimulus to eat after aerobic exercise. "Exercise reduced neuronal responses in brain regions consistent with reduced pleasure of food, reduced incentive motivation to eat,…

This! You need to work on a mixture of all phases of your running to get faster. Long easy runs to build endurance. Sustained medium pace runs to build stamina. And short fast intervals to build speed.

I think NET is supposed to equal goal calories. So let's say your goal calories are 1500. Then you exercise for 400 and enter that into the diary. The NET will show how many calories you eat but subtract out the exercise calories. At the end of the day if you ate 1900 calories then NET will show your goal was reached =…

I think that the majority of people that start running later in life, at some point in the beginning, think they are 'horrible'. Those that kept at it "Suceeded".

Today I will only eat an egg and drink chocolate milk. I wonder how much weight I can lose?

The only weight gain trap is eating more calories than you burn. If you are accurate in tracking your calorie expenditure you should be able to maintain your current weight.

Interesting info from Noakes. I carry water when it is hot and I run longer than about 45 minutes, because I get thirsty.

This is what has helped me. I take 2 puffs of my rescue inhaler immediately before exercise. I warm up for 10 minutes - Very slowly. This is usually walking with only 10-15 second jogs mixed in. I then jog the last 60 seconds of the warmup period to get my heart rate up followed by 1 minute walk. After that I can start…

There are different opinions on this subject. I try to eat most of those exercise calories back so I feel like exercising the next day.

I like to run the whole thing except walk through the aid stations. Usually these breaks came about every 2 miles in the races I've done. I also train that way during long runs, taking a drink/walk break for about 30 sec every 2 miles. Seems to work ok,.

I think a lot of people may choose Light if they workout 1-3/days per week - because that is what the instructions suggest. I would have to burn at least 700 calories X 3 to meet the goal that that calculator provides. Not an average workout for me. I log exercise so it doesn't matter. I just want to point out the flaws in…

I agree with the idea of eating the proper amount of calories based off BMR/TDEE. But something in the calculator at fat2fitradio.com does not add up when selecting your activity level; at least for me. I think you need to be careful when estimating how many calories you are actually burning in exercise and then setting an…
