I jumped around here a bit - this is a long thread, but I was wondering if there was talk about the benefits of a pescetarian diet. JJ, what do you know about the benefits of being a pescetarian?

Thanks for your input everyone. I think i'm going to hedge my bets and rotate.

What's junky in there? I am really just trying to be as healthy as possible. I like all 3 choices (almond, soy, cow). I feel slightly inclined to stay away from the cow milk b/c i hear that dairy isn't the best, seems like there are a lot of mixed reviews.

Double chocolate muffins for breakfast, thai green curry for lunch. I still eat them sometimes, but I used to eat them a lot and I love them both.

'I was just on vacation, staying at a friends house and this topic came up and I really wish it hadn't because everything i was eating was scrutinized. Then there were comments like, "eat some more cake you are on vacation" or " why are you eating diet food." People get really weird when others are eating healthy. I try to…

I eat oatmeal with chocolate peanut butter all the time for breakfast and sometimes put a splenda in it. Helps with sweet cravings in the morning.

I am not worrying about 2 lbs. I'm just trying to figure out what maintenance is for me. I thought i found it, because i've been at the same weight, and that is totally fine, but actually from what i'm reading it seems like i could/should be eating more and that's cool too. I haven't done the bf% or anything like that, and…

I've been eating anywhere from 1500 - 1650 calories for the last few weeks (maybe months) and I've stayed at the same weight. Maybe I should be eating more? I just did the calculations that you indicated and my tdee is somewhere between 2000 and 2200 (depending on exercise) and my BMR is 1430. I'm not trying to lose lots…

Check out this link. It's my favorite class. I also like spinning to. So, am I supposed to lift weights after that? It's crazy intense. http://www.dietsinreview.com/diet_column/01/swahili-military-endurance-workout-tabura-gains-popularity/

Re: Would like to se a picture of what you mean with toned so we mean the same thing. I mean when I wave at someone, i would prefer if my tricep didn't wave back. I'm almost there. I think pretty much everyone who replied with body shots above are in the toned category.

Thanks everyone for all the replies!

I do classes, like tabura (which is a mix of martial arts and african dance) and total body conditioning so I guess that throws me off on knowing if I should be lifting after that or if that counts like weight lifting. Today I will probably do intervals on the treadmill and do the 3 rep thing on shoulders (25 pounds), back…

Weekend drinking, birthday parties, parent visits all usually result in going over calories a bit. But I try to make decent food choices. It is the drinking that gets me though

I generally just avoid long explanations of my diet. If I don't want to eat cake, I just say, "no thanks, I'm stuffed." I think it is a red flag for people to hear about calorie counting and carbs, etc. when you clearly look like you're fit and lean. Why go into lengthy explanations. Plus it might make others feel bad if…

Hi, I'm sorry to hear about your mom. Why did you stop taking your vitamins? Maybe that will help you. Also, are you working out. Exercise always gives me more energy.

Thanks I will do that!
