I mean, for a woman looking to lose weight and not build 8 pack abs? I don't think so.

Agreed.

I just looked at your diary. You're eating maybe two big meals a day. Eating smaller meals throughout the day will keep your metabolism revved and you'll burn more calories in the long run. Try switching your settings to include "Meals 1-5" instead of Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Snack. That'll put you in the right mindset.…

I love hearing from us tall ladies. I'm 5'9 and (before Thanksgiving... week...) weigh 169. I'm trying to get down to 150 as well. Running has supplemented my calorie deficit but I strength train 3 times a week at boot camp class and THAT has helped me get some ab and arm definition.

No, I don't think so. Our weight fluctuates so much, perhaps you're weighing in more than weekly? I think it's more likely a logging problem. I've found that MFP allots us far more calories to "eat back" then we've actually burned. I've compared MFP to other on-line calculators, machines at the gym, and my Nike+ and MFP is…

You're salads probably aren't packing enough punch! Start with a base of greens. Add as many veggies as you want. Add a serving of protein. Add a serving of something fun like avocado, cheese, quinoa, or crunchy noodles, whatever. I don't use dressing, it doesn't have enough depth or mouth feel. Try half a cup of Greek…

I still eat huge quantities of food. I'm just better about my decisions. I bring party bowl sized salads to work and with dinner I'll eat entire heads of broccoli, bunches of asparagus, multiple squashes, or a full bag of green beans along with my (ordinary, human sized) serving of protein and serving of carbs.

I'm 5'9 and around 185 (I haven't weighed in in a few weeks). Trying to make my first goal of 175, then reassessing. I'd like to be in our healthy weight range. And maybe even, you know, not at the very tippy top for the first time in a looooonng time.

You are the THINNEST 198. I'm 5'9 and 186 and dying of jealousy.
-
Me too! I'm 5'9 and in high school when I was around 150 I thought I was so. big. When I graduated college at 225 now THAT was big. I'm at 186 now with my first goal at 175. I haven't set my second goal yet but I'd love to be in the 160s. Thanks for the extra motivation boost!
