I would get a new trainer. you should be able to communicate your goals to the trainer and they should be able to tailor a program to your needs.

Why all the "hate" for machines? I work out at large commercial gyms and everybody uses machines in the weight section.

I enjoy subway, but not the healthy options. Footlong meatball marinara on white bread with provolone cheese. So, if I decided to have Subway it would most likely be for a cheat meal.

What's the purpose of even posting this? It's like we're trying to find a reason to have an argument about different physiques. I only count exercise I do in the gym, because that is the only time I do intentional exercise.

I think I do appreciate it more. Insofar as I look at food as energy now. It's not just about what tastes good, but does it have the appropriate amount of carbs and protein and fats, and then does it taste good. I still eat things I enjoy, I just don't have the need to over indulge, because I don't need to extra energy.

At the moment, it is KFC extra crispy chicken, dark meat, cole slaw, and a biscuit. I have this every Saturday and still stay within my goals for the day.

Try and be more consistent with your intake. Consistency is key. Also, as you lose weight your calorie needs should be recalculated. And how do you know that you gained fat after a 10-15 lbs loss, in the past? Just curious.

I ate a lot Thurs-Sat and drank a good amount with no exercise in that time, and was down 2 pounds on Monday weigh in at the gym.

The advice in here seems contradictory, "calories are more important, but make sure you hit your macros." I don't know.
