Do you appreciate your food more ?

Wondered if others have found that they are enjoying their food more and have much more appreciation for it since starting mfp ? I have, I love my food more and it all seems to taste so much better !

Yep- I have found this as well. I have also found that when I do opt for something like pizza, it better be GOOD pizza. If it's crappy run of the mill stuff, no thanks. I'd rather spend the time to make my own and load it up with all the veggie toppings I want and the different cheeses I want.

    eh...not really.

I have found since coming here something I would have eaten previous to joining just isn't worth it now.

As badbcatha said if I am eating pizza it better be amazing (which means it's homemade) or if it's pie it better be the best ever...otherwise it just isn't worth it.

I definitely have been! I've introduced myself to a few new foods (or rather, foods I used to find in Germany and now am suddenly finding them here! Yay!). :D

Definitely! Since I started eating healthy and cooking more, I've become a bit of a foodie :)

Agreed. I guess what I should have put was since you changed to eating healthier foods. Also if I do treat myself to 2 squares of chocolate I enjoy it more than before. I think we are more aware of what we are eating now rather than mindlessly eating and not paying attention:wink:

Definitely this^^ I have also found now that I get hungry before meal times, the food is so much more satisfying. I look forward to my egg salad sandwich at lunch like it is pheasant under glass.

I don't really appreciate my food more, no.

I do agree with some of the posters who have said they're more concerned about the quality of what they're eating (i.e. if it's pizza it's gotta be a good pizza).

What I've found most though, is that my tastes have changed. Some things I used to think were good, aren't anymore.

A lot of what has already been said resonated with me. I do appreciate it more in that I am eating less of it, as well as spending more time thinking about my meals and preparing them. I also find that my tastes have changed, in that processed food actually tastes bad at this point, so that makes me appreciate well made food more.

I have found like others that my tastes have changed. The sugary gooey desserts I loved are no longer appealing. I do love fresh veggies in the summer much more.

I think I do appreciate it more. Insofar as I look at food as energy now. It's not just about what tastes good, but does it have the appropriate amount of carbs and protein and fats, and then does it taste good. I still eat things I enjoy, I just don't have the need to over indulge, because I don't need to extra energy.

I find I am looking at food differently. I like knowing that if I am going to have something "bad" its going to be the absolute best I can get. That I DO appreciate!
