Lots of rain in TN today! I could use some new friends, if anyone would like to add me! I'll be 51 next month and am just continuing on the path of trying to stay healthy/no injuries, and cleaning up some really bad eating habits over the last 7 months. Happy Hump Day!!

Turned 50 in July 2018. Looking for some new friends that log in daily and can provide some encouragement. I was working out 6 days a week till I injured my knee in August, so that side-lined me a bit. I put on 20 lbs because I reverted back to old eating habits. I'm really trying to hit my reset button and get back on…

My weight loss journey is a long one. Chubby since childhood, I hit my highest weight of 278 in 2007. Went on multiple medications for high BP, high choles., metabolic syndrome/insulin resistance. Yo yo'd for almost a decade. In Jan. 2016 I had had enough, and via my employer, I was able to join "The Biggest Winner"…

I'll chime in here. I am 49 y/o. My GYN told me a few months ago that I'm almost at the end of perimenopause. I will go 2-3 months with no period, then spot/light flow for 2-3 weeks. I rarely have hot flashes, and if I do, they're at night only. I'm usually freezing cold! I notice my mood worsens when I've not had my…

Try looking up Les Mills Body Flow on youtube. It's a combo workout of Tai Chi, Yoga, and Pilates, and it will burn calories! Good luck!

I definitely have 25 lbs to lose!! I did great at Thanksgiving and didn't gain any, but my mantra of "maintain, don't gain" for Christmas was a total bust! :s :( I'm ready to be back at it, especially after realizing how carb sensitive I am. I used to take medication for Metabolic Syndrome/Insulin Resistance, but b/c I…

I have always been overweight and I finally figured out at the age of 47 that the ONLY way I can enjoy some of the higher fat foods I like to indulge in, is to get my butt in the gym! It took me joining a work-sponsored exercise program called The Biggest Winner to jump start my fitness path. That was in Jan. 2016. We got…

I too was diagnosed with hypothyroidism in early November. I started on name brand Synthroid on Thanksgiving Day 2016. I do not feel it helped jump start any new weight loss. I have been exercising and watching what I eat for the past year anyways. Slow and steady is winning my weight loss war! My hair had been falling out…

I have been on MFP since 2007, but have never, until now, got in the community scene and message boards! Feel free to add me as friend. I love encouragement and I love to give encouragement! We're all in this together, right?!

I work out everyday without eating first. I take a medication as soon as I get up and I cannot eat anything for an hour after taking it anyways, so that works out for me. My fitness coach did encourage me to have a higher protein snack packed in my gym bag to eat as soon as I'm done working out! I'm thinking of doing a…

I'm a little opposite with the years, but still the same story. In March of 2014, I started a new quest for a healthier life. By October, I had lost 50 lbs, but then was side-lined by a torn meniscus and had knee surgery. 2015 sucked for me and I gained back 30 of that 50 poundage. In January of 2016, I joined a…

What an inspiration! I too started my quest for improved health through diet and exercise this past January. I'll hit the one year mark on 1/9/17. I've only lost 35 lbs, but I'm much stronger and healthier than I was a year ago. My doctor is hopefully going to take me off 3 of my medications next month too! Keep on keepin'…
