Lots of things you can do besides walk. Swim, bike, box - do you have access to a gym? If you can gain some muscle mass, you will burn more calories and possibly will help with weight loss.

You should do what works for you, but I would suggest trying out a strength plan for at least 6-8 weeks and seeing how it goes. Muscle burns more calories! It also protects your joints and helps with a lot of daily struggles like carrying all the groceries into the house in one shot! Nothing to lose by giving it a…

There are some nice-looking adventures going on! Well done, everyone. I tweaked my knee playing softball about two weeks ago so am relegated to the spin bike for now!

I too have had my share of crashes whilst downhill riding (also road riding. and single track riding. just a lot of crashing for this girl lately). I think there is a lot to be said for being familiar with the terrain as well. The more you ride it, the safer you'll feel as you'll know where to look for all the little nicks…

WOW! I just took a look at your ride on Strava, and you definitely earned that donut! Well done! I will have to be satisfied with my snickers protein bar today :)

It's been a busier summer for me with cycling this year, and i've been loving the additional kms! Bigger rides: 80km road race in June, 100km road race in July, and this month trying a 20km road race as part of a sprint triathlon, and a 50km gravel grind! Just getting into gravel, and i'm loving it so far! I also try my…

Did you get that ebike? I've heard lots of great things about them as well, and someone in one of the cycling groups i'm part of has an ebike and loves it!

I signed up for a duathlon in early May, so have backed off on B210K training for now in order to focus on speed rather than distance, and get some time in the saddle. Still too much snow and ice outside so have been going a little crazy on the treadmill and indoor bike trainer! But training is going well so far and I'm…

Recently started 10k training after being sick for the last part of January. Almost felt like I needed to start over completely with 5k training after those couple of lazy weeks lol. Not following a specific 10k plan but just running based on how I feel. Feb 4th - 5.35k Feb 6th - 3k Feb 8th - 3.3k Feb 11th - 5.5k I'll get…

Wow! Good for you! I started adult swim lessons last year to help me train for a beginner triathlon, and now my lane swims are the highlight of my week! I had some fears that I needed to overcome as well so I know how you must be feeling and I think you rock!
-
