  • I’m looking for friends to keep me motivated too! I’m 5’2” and 196. I just lost 10 lbs since Jan 22nd when I started this journey. I’m 45 and work in an office. I have a stand-up desk due to spinal problems. But I’m not exercising yet. I need positive people to keep me motivated.
  • Thanks. I'm reviewing my food diary and I am not eating as many veggies as I thought I was so I want to work on that a little, add some consistent exercise and re-evaluate in a few weeks. I know I didn't get fat overnight and its stupid for me to think that I will lose it fast.

  • You're basically losing on average about 1 Lb per week which is a good, healthy rate of loss. It's a slow process...this isn't "reality" t.v. so expectations need to be adjusted.[/quote] Thanks I guess 'reality TV' has me brainwashed.

  • I do weigh my meats and I use a cup for everything else.

  • I'm trying to get used to feeling hungry between meals but I notice I do overeat when this happens because I go from feeling hungry to feeling ravenous in no time at all. And usually get a headache. And then I eat too fast. And usually get a stomach ache. Eating 'real' foods help like fresh fruit and chicken and eggs and…
  • Great ideas thank you!
  • Actually, comparing my stats to Mildred, my target caloric intake with no exercise should only be 995 per day. If it defaults to 1200 and I'm eating +100 calories per day over that target (thinking one banana shouldn't hurt) then no wonder I am not losing. I will have to exercise to 'earn' my 200+ calories to hit the 1200…
  • I love this. My weight loss has stopped the past 3 weeks and 've been beating my head against a wall trying to rationalize that I'm doing everything 'right' and I want to quit and go have a damn cupcake but this thread kind of talked me off the proverbial ledge.
  • I didn't like cookies N Cream and I didn't like the salted caramel either (too much salt) but I do love the chocolate one. It gives me a tummy ache though so I had to switch to Yasso. The coconut caramel Yasso greek yogurt is my new fav. It has bits of dark chocolate and coconut with swirls of caramel.
  • I do only have one or two cups of coffee in the morning but still 130 calories in sweetened creamer is the equivalent of a afternoon snack. I'd rather save those calories for a glass of wine! lol. I have tried switching to black coffee but its horrid. I drink Starbucks Veranda and Breakfast Blend or Dunkin Donuts Original…
  • I'm 45 with two kids. My youngest is 9 and I'm still trying to lose my baby weight but I'm back on track. I just sent you a friend request.
  • 45 yrs and starting to feel like it. Add me!
  • Hi. New to the group. My DH and I are trying to switch to 'our version' of clean eating. Not sure if we are doing this right, but we have eliminated sodas and sugary drinks. We stopped eating fast food and have cut back 90% of our daily bread/rice/pasta/random carb intake. We are eating more REAL food, like eggs, lean…
  • Tea works for me late at night but if you don't like tea then don't force yourself. You definetly have to rethink how you snack. -Find substitutes, like pretzels instead of chips and count them -add fruit or veggies to everything to fill you up -find a way to make a healthy snack feel more decadent, like apple slices…
  • Fredericksburg here
  • Went back to the gym after 2 years of not working out due to ruptured discs. Decided to do kettle bell swings and the next day my shoulder blades hurt so bad I was in tears.
  • I'm in. My 6 yr old took a video of me in my jammies last night. Needless to say that jammies don't have a tummy support panel or fashion tricks to hide the rolls. I just turned 43 and I felt so awful about myself looking at that video. Today I ate 2 hardboiled eggs for breakfast. I went to the gym on my lunch break and…
  • OMG reading this post sounds like I wrote it! lol. My office has a candy dish in the lobby. I have to pass it everytime I go to the copy machine/fax and whenever I need to leave or meet a client. Its in my face. I asked my boss to buy peppermint patties instead cause I hate those. But he likes them and is trying to lose…
  • A case of generic water is only 3.99 and will last me the week. I drink more when its convenient. I have one bottle by the bed, one or two at my desk, one in my gym bag, etc. I hate tap water. Does that make me a water snob? I don't know. But it helps to have it convenient.
  • I am soooooo not a morning person. I hate the whole world in the morning. I tried doing workouts in the morning and all I wanted to do was go back to bed. lol. My workout is on my lunch hour so its not a full hour that I am REALLY working out. I have to account for the 10 min in the locker room! But I'm still struggling…
  • Hi. Welcome aboard. I think the best advice I can give you the first day is to just plan ahead and try your best every meal of every day and stay active. Good luck!
  • Thanks Krissy, I made it back to the gym today and I'm feeling good but always the pessimist, I keep waiting for that head cold, or family emergency, or crampy period or something to throw me out of the zone. So far so good.
  • Thanks! I am happily sending friend requests to both of you! My husband offered to bring the kids and meet me at the gym after work. I was so shocked I couldn't say yes fast enough! We got in a light workout (30 min elliptical and a little bit of abs) and went home to have a salad for dinner. My family only likes iceburg,…
  • Thanks for the tips. I am finding that I am using his habits as my excuse. I really do need to stop doing that. We are supposed to have steaks on the grill tonight. But that doesn't mean I need to have a full serving of mashed potatoes and a hard roll with butter too. Even though I want it. I will make a salad for my side…
  • I have the same problem. I'm trying to curb it again but I know what works I just havent been doing it. First I have to get rid of all the junk food. My husband and kids have chocolate, cookies, ice cream, etc. I have to go back to being a tyrant about it and not buy it or let them bring it into the house. Its hard though…
  • Okay so how about ditch the Healthy Choice meals and cook real food? The sodium alone in those things are awful! If I ate like you did through the morning and afternoon I think I'd faint but I know everyones body is different. That said you know you need to change something or else you wouldnt have posted this thread.…
  • Congrats. I got serious in January, after I realized I had a pattern of the same bad behavior that I could time by the calendar. In January I was committed, by March I was losing momentum, by May I was back to my old habits, by August I was repenting, by October I was defeated. Over and over every year. So this year I got…
  • Agreed. Where is the "like" button?
  • My kids are now 8 and 3, but I remember what you are describing. When your so tired all the time its hard to keep a routine especially when your life revolves around a baby. I have a couple suggestions: When your BF/Fiance/DH gets home, give him half an hour to pee, change clothes and settle. Then give him the baby and…
  • Agreed. I am on a 1200 cal a day diet and while I fluxuate between 20 cal over to 300 cal over (on the weekend when I have a couple of beers with friends) I always eat the calories I burn and I exercise 5 - 6 days a week. Its coming off sloooowly but I'm okay with that because this is something I can maintain for the long…
