  • When I run in the dark I sometimes wear black (only because most of my long sleeve stuff is black) but I always wear either an orange or neon green shirt over it. I never run with a light, but then again I always run on the sidewalk too. The only time I run in the road is on a dirt road I take back to my house and the only…
  • I passed my totals for last year in January. In 2011 I ran 95 total miles. In 2012 I YTD have run 663 total miles.
  • Good luck, running is a lot of fun but its obviously not for everyone but if you are determined to stick with it the rewards are fantastic. I have gotten two people in my office to do the C25K program and so far they seem to be doing really well.
  • HAHA I know what you mean about the people that seem to live at the gym. There are two people like that at the one I go to and no matter what time of day or day of the week I go they are ALWAYS there. Usually the one guy is on the treadmill at the highest elevation holding on for dear life and the other guy is almost…
  • I weigh every day just to see where I am at and how the previous day effected me. I weigh myself at the same time of day each day but I only record Thursday's weight each week as my official weight.
  • I can't help you on what kind of bike it pick but you over did yourself running. You need to take a week break or so and then start out slowly. I can even overdue myself now and I have been running since January. I have figured out my limit is two long runs a week, I cannot do more than two 7+ mile runs a week or else my…
  • On my lunch time workouts I usually spend 45 minutes. When I go either after work or on the weekend anywhere from an hour to two hours depending on what I am doing or if I have to wait for machines to come open, etc.
  • I beat my PR this past weekend in 5k. I was ALMOST under 20. Male 25 to 29 Total Place Name Bib No Age Overall Time Pace 1 Alex 1387 28 4 20:03.8 6:28/M 2 Matthew 1388 28 86 33:54.8 10:56/M
  • Make sure you join our MFP challenge. http://www.endomondo.com/challenges/sZcF1Dv2NV4
  • I use it almost every day. I love it.
  • Thats interesting, I find just the opposite. Ever since Endomondo changed the way that it calculates calories burned my have been at least 100 cals less than MFP. I usually use Endomondo's since I think it is much more accurate than MFP. I don't really have a problem logging it twice since its almost automatic for Endo and…
  • I do, but only because I like a specific type of sock when running. I know I'm picky but when I find something I really like I stick with it. I love these: http://www.target.com/p/c9-by-champion-men-s-3pk-running-socks-black-white/-/A-14089301#prodSlot=large_1_16
  • For me, I have to wake up early (since the races are usually at 8-10am to make sure I get enough fluid and take care of bodily needs so I don't have something happen in the middle of the race. But besides that just do your normal routine, make sure you eat before the race. I usually will eat a banana and yogurt an hour or…
  • I run with my phone just because I use Endomondo to track my course.
  • When I run at lunch, I go to my local YMCA and put everything I don't take with me in my locker. But I do take my cell phone on my arm band and a copy of my drivers license and BCBS card. When I go somewhere to run that I drive to I leave my keys in the car, I just use the keyless entry pad in my vehicle to lock everything…
  • I have seen this before, but its always interesting to see. Your numbers Obesity Index 23 bmi BMI is an estimate of how "overweight" or "obese" a person is National Below average You have a lower BMI than 86% of males aged 15-29 in your country Global Above average You have a higher BMI than 52% of males aged 15-29 in the…
  • For 1, I would probably try 2 or 3 pair of running shoes before you settle on a pair. Some stores let you return them some don't. It look me a very long time to finally find a pair that didn't give me shin splints then I stuck with them once I could them. I really like New Balance and will probably never get a different…
  • Bump for more participants.
  • @thebigcb No I have not, but my normal daily run is 5 miles so I figured 3.1 would be fairly easy.
  • I ran my first 5k this past weekend and came in 5th with a time of 21:20.7. I am signed up for another one this next weekend and am hoping to break my PR of 20 flat.
  • 1, How long did you plan? About 2 months of actual planning (the wife did most of it). 2. How much did you spend? (sorry if that's personal) Was this more/less than you planned? About 30k, 10k over budget. 3. How many people were invited/ how many showed up? 300 invited, 293 showed. 4. What did you give out for favors (if…
  • Endomondo is by far my favorite application on my phone period.
  • Joined, thanks!
  • I don't have the same pain but I have experienced what you are before. For me its my right knee, what I usually have to do is do some low impact exercise for a while like the elliptical or bike machine. Ill do that for maybe a week or two, then at home either ice or heat the area and usually by the middle of the second…
  • I love Endomondo, to me its by far the best app out for distance based sports.
  • They go by a lot of names by different brands, compression shorts, compression briefs, compression underwear. Either way yes I wear them every time I work out because without them I get chafed like there is no tomorrow. Its the only thing I have tried that actually prevents it from happening to me. I have also purchased…
  • Bump, its been a week and I have gone from the undecided category to the I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT THEM category. So much that I bought a second pair, MO10. Apparently they are water resistant.
  • I usually run about 25 minutes, my best this year was 22. My goal is sub 20.
