  • Hey I'm a newbie (6months) vegetarian. I lean towards veganism but its not always possible. At home i eat vegan as much as possible, split 50/50 between moral and health benefits. Plant power all the way. Love talking veggie stuff I have a similar problem with family, and friends still frown when i say that I don't eat…
  • Hello and welcome to MFP from another midlander. Good luck and yep it's snowing where I am too. So where abouts are you? I'm in Erdington.
  • Going by the pictures I'd say I'm in between 20-25% but still that's good, better than over 25 where I used to be.
  • That great guys ill start my searching. Ill post back here if I find anything useful Ben
  • A lady from Iowa State Had once lost a whole bunch of weight But January scales Left her feeling quite pale And to be slim she hopes is her fate
  • *edges slowly towards the door* I'm getting out while I still can. Good luck OP
  • Why not? I'm still not sure if this whole thing is a joke. But I think it's hilarious.
  • I'm not sure if this whole thread is a joke or not but it's amusing. For the record it is 'losing' weight as in you lose weight, you don't loose it. Also to double the irony you started the next sentence without a capital G. To add to the irony a final correction, it is spelt 'grammar' not 'grammer'. I could have made…
  • hey thanks for that. i ended up googling it just in case i was saying the wrong thing.
  • Sorry about your loss dude. Hearts on fire, rocky workout theme. Only because I ran for most of my jog today but also when I finished my heart was racing and felt like it was actually on fire. Seems fitting.
  • Ok so I'm having some serious chocolate issues recently and promised I would go clean this week. Sounds like lent could be a better idea, I'm totally in. I'm sure sugar is whats holding me back at the moment. That's like the day after pancake day right?
  • I feel this way too. There's some self righteous abut her. To me I see her in a bad light but I'm sure you're are right. It also bugs me that in plyo cardio circuit warm up they miss out stretching the left leg, you know the bit where you're on one leg stretching your glutes. I always pause and do it my self!
  • I have a ridiculous fear of flying but I still fly 4 -8 times a year, (6 hour flight coming in 2 weeks eek!) I only ever sing one song on karaoke- Michael bublé's version of Moondance. I can whistle at Abrey high pitch that I like to pretend is ultrasonic, the human dog whistle. I can hear most songs and then play then the…
  • Yeah I get it. I made the commitment to stop based on trying to complete the Insanity course. I've missed three workouts so far in the first four weeks. Two of them because of alcohol. So yeah I'm still learning too, damn alcohol.
  • Cheers. I'm doing my research and learning all the time so I hope I do ok. When my skin starts falling off and I turn yellow I'll come apologetically crawling back to this post grovelling for some help. Btw the way this is not sarcasm I'm being serious lol. Now where did I put that carrot......
  • I should apologise I have been over zealous. So Sorry for ranting. I suppose I mean perhaps I feel and look better than I did when I ate meat, and not generalise it for everyone else. And evolving to use tools, all I will say is touché, dammit. My one last input though is that we require fire and tools to eat animals that…
  • 1. Peer reviewed studies are not propaganda 2. The results are from a study started in the 70's- 80's 3. I'm not a vegan 4. Try and kill a chicken or a pig with your teeth and claws only, like the carnivorous lion you described, ( I hate being reduced to this) 5. What are you on about burying eggs? If you like eating eggs…
  • Don't worry everybody, this guys just cleared it all up, no need for any more information then I guess. *facepalm*
  • I know I have absolutely no evidence for this but it is just personal findings. I really feel that alcohol is more than just calories. I've had two nights of drinking this year so far. Last year I'd drink a small amount 2-3 times a week. Without alcohol, I do these things Sleep better Exercise for longer with more want,…
  • Oh and apologies for misspellings and grammatical errors, I'm terrible I know. I'm not a writer.....but i can play the piano if that makes up for it :-)
  • I enjoy my veggie diet, I'm not vegan yet. It's still new to me. I also saw forks over knives, food inc. and read the china study. I try to keep my mind open, I love to learn. I found the information quite compelling and unbiased. I'm not about to jump on the plant based wagon and preach its not who I am. I like the idea…
  • I'm just here to say the same. Alcohol and curries invaded my weekend. But I'm back on it today. If you've hurt your lower body maybe trying some upper body weights or for cardio do some punches upper cuts and jabs. Gets my heart rate elevated. Maybe a bit of floor work circuit training, crunches, push ups. Go nuts.
  • For anyone in the UK No names mentioned as that would be unfair. My friend (female) passed all the tests and interviews to get a job (same one as I do) and was told at the medical she was too big and was not offered the job. She was told if she lost 12st in 1 year she would be able to get the job without reapplying. This…
  • I use to say 'second whim' instead of 'second wind'. I think I got this right. I used to say 'out of the frying pan and into the fryer' no one ever corrected me, so now I just say it fast so no one notices. Also I still don't now what NSV means on this website, enlighten me. At work I have some friends that use idioms…
  • I bought the ft4 also. I have noticed that the calorie burns are quite high too. I'm 188lbs and burning 680 calories doing insanity's pure cardio workout. That's roughly 40 mins of getting my heart rate averaging 170-180 I know this is high but I'm a bit out of shape. I then take away my RMR and get about 630 calories, it…
  • Currently doing insanity with a long term body fat goal of 10-12% not sure what the weight of that is quite yet but aiming down to high 160lbs.
  • I'm on the second week and missed my first day due to my super early work shift. I plan to do yesterday's today and two tomorrow as I have a day off so can split them. I'm finding it hard to keep up and you have to pace yourself. According to my HRM I'm burning 150/200 cals in the warm up. It's kinda hardcore but I'm a bit…
  • how are people doing? I just finished pure cardio with a whopping 563 calorie burn. I had to take a few breaks but he's a bit mad doing all that exercise at once. Im enjoying it and feeling results but not seeing anything yet but then it has only been like 5 days. keeping my pictures going looking forward to making a…
  • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPvK5FamZKY here is a link to a very short video explaining what i meant
  • i like the line, twitching like a dead fish lol. In P90X they use bands as a substitute so yeah try them. also another exercise to try is. step 1 grab a small towel or old shirt and find an open a door with handles on both sides step 2 stand one leg each side of the door step 3 wrap the towel or shirt around both handles…
