  • This should prove to be quite an interesting thread.
  • Yay for leaky gut syndrome! lol j/k
  • It's certainly not for everyone, but my husband and I don't have any of those symptoms you named. In fact, we've never felt better! He eliminated dairy from his diet last week and is feeling sooo much better without it.
  • You'd be surprised how hard it is to eat even 50 grams of carbs a day if you are not eating grains (bread, pasta, etc). For example, there's only like 4 grams of carbs in 4 cups of spinach! Anything you can get from grains, you can get from fruits and vegetables. Plus alot of people here are insulin resistant and have…
  • I eat eggs almost every day. Had some for dinner last night. Yolks are the best part. Check out this video>>>> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=66J-GLa7sC8 This guy is a nutritionist with good old fashioned common sense.
  • Alas....I love sugar, but sugar does not love me...or my thighs...or my stomach. Anywho, I am currently set at 25 (carbs)/ 30(protein)/ 45(fat), although I am usually way under on my carbs.
  • Good article. His comments about milk make me glad I don't drink it. Anyway I always thought it was strange for the USDA to recommend we eat more servings of bread and pasta than servings of vegetables and fruits.
  • I have found this chart >> http://www.marksdailyapple.com/how-to-succeed-with-the-primal-blueprint/ to be quite helpful when it comes to just how many carbs one should eat. I try to stay around 50 carbs a day.

  • In my opinion you are eating waaay too much sugar and waaay too many carbs. I would stick to 1-3 servings of fruit a day and get the rest of your carbs from green leafy vegetables. Cut out the pasta, popcorn, crackers and the other processed foods and I bet you'll see a difference :)
  • I think some of you are confusing ketosis wtih ketoacidosis?? Furthermore, although I have never tried Atkins, I think its a tad misleading to claim that once you stop Atkins you will gain all the weight back. Well obviously, if you stop ANY diet and start eating crap again (ie processed carbs), you will gain weight back.…
  • What's unhealthy/anorexic about eating healthy carbs, healthy fats, and a good amount of protein? *confused*
  • ^^^^^This right here!! It works.
  • 5' 1.5" 125 lbs (give or take a few) here!
  • For beginners, I LOVE "Women's Health:Ultimate Fat Burn". I still use from time to time when I don't feel like doing anything too intense. I still get a good workout. Its about 40 minutes long. You can get it from Amazon.
  • If it were me, I'd try eating the exercise calories for a week and see what happens. It sure won't hurt anything, and according to most of the folks on MFP, it works!
  • Ice cream and cake. I dont mind eating clean and had no problem giving up fast food and processed foods such as chips, pizza, hot dogs, etc. But ice cream....especially butter pecan...man oh man. I could eat a whole gallon of that stuff. I'll (or at least I used to) eat pretty much any type of cake. Pound cake, strawberry…
  • I have four kids, all c-sections. Definitely agree with the other ladies. Eat right and get plenty of exercise. Another tip: drink as much water as you can stand. Alot of ladies tend to retain water in the abdominal region, thereby causing the bloated look, which is obviously not a good looks for your abs. Whats working…
  • I was shocked to learn that there's like 226 calories in ONE dinner roll at Texas Roadhouse. My husband and I used to go there several times a month and I would eat a good 4 or 5 rolls before our dinner even came out. Plus I had butter on the rolls.
  • I'm 5' 1 1/2" and I think I look my best @ around 125 (which is the weight I was b4 I started having kids). I would never want to weigh less than 120 though. I would look waaay too thin. I'm currently between 125-130 (i have a digi scale and a regular scale and there is a 5 pound difference between them) Its interesting to…
