I LOVE Intermittent Fasting. I do 16/8. It stops food cravings and it doesn't even feel like a diet; I plan to do this for the rest of my life because it's simply an awesome lifestyle. Workout before eating if you can, and afterwards have plenty of carbohydrates, like a smoothie with fruit.

Congratulations beautiful!

ooh. by the way, I use natural unsalted unsweetened organic PB... no need for the additional calories of sweetener/oil
-
There are two things that zap my hunger and are so worth every calorie: 1) Sun Warrior Rice Protein powder blended with almond milk, 2) a fresh sliced apple with about 1/4 cup of peanut butter. The protein powder smoothie is perfect last thing in the evening to stave of cravings etc. I love the PB apple early in the day,…

Stop eating gluten. I have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis... when I kill the gluten and eat clean, whole foods, things turn around quickly. Good luck!

Thickly sliced zucchini brushed with olive oil front and back, slathered with marinara, and coated in lots of good mozzarella - baked in the oven - also does the trick
-
I would also love more clean eating friends... please feel free to friend me... we can trade tips as we go along

Sliced apple with about two servings of natural peanut butter (the kind with no added oils, salts, or sugars)... mmmmm... and kills my cravings for anything unhealthy if I start my day with that for breakfast
-
An apple with about two servings natural peanut butter (make sure the ingredients are only peanuts - nothing else) kills all my cravings for sweet and fatty foods for the day. Also, you could get stevia, vanilla extract, and cocoa powder and whip it into plain greek yogurt or plain cottage cheese for a delish cheesecake…

YES! By mid-March at least.

You also seemed to have a goal in mind... wanting to start college off on your best foot. I love that... reminds me to set some goals too.
-
That's what I'm trying right now... how's it going for you?
-
YES! I just started last week and I love it... I'm doing Raw till 4 which is helping me a lot with staying committed... I love eating plenty!
-
Sun Warrior! It's the only vegan brand that doesn't taste chalky

I think it's a GREAT idea... and so do my physicians who are not drug pushers or diet pushers and advocate true health and wellness. Don't be afraid! Go for it!!!

Do you like to read? There are a few books out right now that basically explain everything a good nutritionist woud tell you and more. Dr. Dean Ornish's "The Spectrum" is excellent. "Forks Over Knives" is also a great synopsis of what other nutritionists and doctors have been teaching about. Hope that helps! If you do see…

Soy can hinder absorption of thyroid medicine. Try to avoid it in the mornings after taking your medicine, and in moderation, soy is OK.
-
It can be dangerous not to take medicine... consider taking Armour thyroid, which is natural, and should work well to help you get healthy again including with weight loss...

what flavors do you crave?

Yes! I like tofu carrot scramble. You take a block of firm or extra firm tofu, drain it, then put it between two napkins and lay it in a colander with something heavy on top to drain more. Meanwhile, you take a bag of shredded carrot and saute it over medium heat in a large pan in a few tablespoons of water. When the…

a spoonful of peanut butter! or a milkshake made with almond milk and sun warrior rice protein powder.

Also soy is low calorie and high protein. Plain tofu can be really tasty if you spray it with bragg's liquid aminos or soy sauce, coat it in nutritional yeast, and pan fry it.... almost like chicken nuggets

Hi! 100grams of protein is quite a lot! But, if that's what you plan to do, there is a great vegetarian source that I like called Sun Warrior Brown Rice protein powder. You'd have to make several big shakes throughout the day but it's all protein, unlike the fats you would have to intake from the dairy and eggs to get up…

Thanks for the tips about food combining and B12! I definetely need to remember to take my B12 supplement... and it's good to hear I don't really need to worry about protein. So far, my diet logs show that I'm meeting my protein goal anyway. Woohoo! Are there any other foods or meals that tend to be helpful during a diet?…

I'm mostly cooking from scratch. I love legumes for protein but they are pretty high in calorie. For instance, I had a cup of chickpeas in my dinner tonight and that was 240 calories. I do like using those, though!

YES I have read Stop the Thyroid Madness and that was when I switched to Armour. The hard part about switching from Synthroid to Armour is that there's a hard transition period until the doctor is able to figure out the correct dosage. In my transition period, I went through a long hypothyroid spell because we were slowly…

If you try it, I'd love to hear how it goes! I like the idea of occassional water fasts or fruit fasts to enhance the detox effect of my weight loss effort but I've never heard of this style of fasting before.
