  • well, luckily you're in midtown manhattan! i know that there are LOTS of places there with calorie counts that you can just run and get things. pick out a few meals from those places and just get in a routine of getting those. this can be a little more expensive, but if you truly don't have enough time, it'll be easier.…
  • you look so great! i am 5'1" also and only 98 pounds, but got to say, you look way better at 110 than i did and probably even better than i look now!
  • thanks guys! honestly, i don't really like unhealthy food and eating out makes me nervous when i don't know calorie counts. i don't eat white or brown rice. ideally, i will get a boiled/steamed shrimp dish with veggies and no sauce, but i can't be sure they have it. i hate hate making modifications to dishes when eating…
  • apples! before i got a scale, i estimated them at 80 calories...now i know they're way closer to 120.
  • honestly? i always, always just get something with unaltered ingredients so i can guess easily and nearly perfectly. maybe it's not the most fun, but it allows me to be social and go out without worry. examples: - get a plain salad - just greens, fruit, other veggies. if you must, get cheese or nuts or whatever, but it…
  • i usually eat really late at night -- but then i don't eat until midday (noon to two) the next day. i'd rather be full when i wake up and then not eat until later because when i start eating for the day, it tends to make me hungrier and crave more.
  • i disagree with others here. he could have an eating disorder or be on the path to developing one. people of all shapes and sizes have ed's. i'd talk to him and express your concern, nicely!
  • i'm 5'1/2" and my weight fluctuates. currently, i'm around 97. i would love to get more toned though -- i still have a bit of a tummy unfortunately. i have the tinniest bone structure though so any extra weight looks bad on me. i looked very overweight at 120-125.
  • honestly, for me, i used to do the low-cal sweet thing after dinner a lot, but it led to unhealthy cravings/binging or calorie hoarding so i could justify having more. i now try to just focus on healthy foods. go cold turkey for a week off of sweets and see if it helps with the cravings. i feel SO much better. some healthy…
  • thank you! ok so if i'm weighing like a sweet potato, should i weigh it cooked or uncooked?
  • ok this may sound weird, but hear me out! i bring sugar snap peas into the theatre. you can have a HUGE HUGE bag for around 140 calories -- they're crunchy, taste great, will fill you up with great nutrients, and last ya through the movie. just try it!
  • bumping this up for more girls to see. :)
  • Thanks for the ideas!
  • hmm, yeah i never really have established my maintenance calories. i'm really hoping it's not 1,200 and more like 1,500-700. i don't really seem to loose anything on 1,200 though and i get hungry/grumpy on it.
  • some ideas: pudding (non-fat, sugar free) - they are around 60 calories and come in chocolate/vanilla/boston cream/swirl flavors rice pudding (non-fat, sugar free) - these are 70 cals and super great frozen dessert treats - weight watchers makes super good per-portioned treats (bars, sandwiches, tubs of ice cream) and you…
  • i'd watch out for the fats in it, but i don't think so. i actually do this a lot too. i love love love peanut butter and have been known to eat whole jars in a sitting.
  • i have some ideas! i think having him drink calories is easier -- way way less tempting. milk, OJ, etc. cooking his food with extra sauce could help too -- if you are having grilled chicken, use extra olive oil to make his or butter or whatever. not that tempting. same with dressings for salads. nuts are also a good way -…
