When you lose weight because of "shame" and "disgust", you're in such a negative place...and that place is filled with anger and self loathing. When you lose weight because you LOVE yourself and want to IMPROVE your health and fitness and you recognize your WORTH, then you're in a positive place...and that place is filled…

I love that title - very inspiring. Feel free to friend me...always looking for support!

Same boat - I can be in a great place and one little speed bump can derail me. Working hard to change that mindset! We can do this!
-
Add me too! I'm 46 and all my friends from a year ago have disappeared so I'm rebuilding

I'm in the same boat - so feel free to friend me. I'm most successful when I track my food and try to do something active every day. Even if it's deliberately parking on the other side of the lot, mentally I know I did something to help with weight loss.

It's extremely frustrating when we do everything "right" and don't see the expected "rewards". Since you're only 5'2" and started at about 250, you would expect to have lost more weight by now...that's what I would expect too. And it's difficult to not compare ourselves to other people here..."I'm working so hard and…

I quit almost four years ago and I'm so happy I did. As much as I loved smoking (and sadly, I LOVED it), I lived in constant fear of getting lung cancer. Since quitting, I know I've done everything in my power to stay healthy, so that's a tremendous relief. I've also been able to dramatically increase my "stamina"...I used…

I'm 5"4 with a goal to lose about 50 pounds. I started six months ago and I'm down 28 pounds so I'm looking to lose another 20-25. I'm 44 and the weight is NOT coming off as quickly as it has in the past...however, I know I'm doing everything "right" (staying within calorie goals/working out) so it's all good. Thus far…

Well said! @z304 - good for you for getting back to the gym :)

I'm so impressed and inspired at the same time. Whether you're at goal or partway through your journey, you all look amazing. @Hornsby - you look like a movie star. For real. And @gramarye - you look like a different person! Amazing progress. Thank you all so much for sharing :)

Absolutely! I'm down almost 30 pounds and can see/feel such a difference. I'm so happy where I am that I'm less worried about where I'm going - if that makes any sense. I'm eating right, exercising and committed to good health, so I'm confident this will result in more weight loss. But for the first time EVER, I'm actually…

I've heard many people say "weight loss happens in the kitchen"...so as long as you're staying within your calorie goals, you'll be fine. I had major surgery two years ago and couldn't exercise for nearly six months. When I started going to the gym I was woefully out of shape. But six months later, I'm stronger/healthier…

You can see such a difference! Excellent reminder that the scale is not always the best method to determine "success". Congrats!

140 - 150. I've lost 27 and have between 20-30 to go, depending upon how I feel when I hit 150.

Wow...SO INSPIRING! I too, am losing fairly slowly. It's great to read about someone who is succeeding in a similar fashion. Congrats on improving your health, your strength and your flexibility. Congrats on treating your body well and finding happiness ALONG the journey - not just at the END of the journey. This made my…

Fabulous! I can see such a difference :) Great job!

Bravo! You are doing fabulous...congrats on your amazing success!

Great job. One week at a time/one day at a time/one meal at a time - you've got this :)

Thanks everyone. It's me in the picture, LOL...and I'd say I have a normal build (definitely not ginormous boobs/bum). My trainer does not use calipers. I carry(ied) a LOT of the weight in my mid section so I still have a lot to lose there. The high BF% concerns me but knowing that it might not be totally accurate is a bit…

You look amazing...very noticeable difference! Great job :)

I can't get over how much YOUNGER you look. Seriously...like 20 years younger, LOL. You are so dedicated and I'm genuinely happy for your success. Keep up the fabulous work. You are an inspiration

Feel free to add me. I log in daily and love to comment on people's posts/progress. I found working with a trainer super helpful/motivating as well and really has made a difference in my health/fitness.

...when I crossed my legs and I could feel a noticeable difference in how it felt. As in, it wasn't a struggle to keep them crossed! ...when all of the clothes from last summer, which had gotten too small, were suddenly just right and now too big. ...when I made a muscle in the mirror and could see a defined "cut" in my…

You look wonderful. Congrats!

Nineteen pounds in 25 days is amazing! I'm not sure how much you're hoping to lose, but you're off to an amazing start :) My only "advice' is to accept the fact that you can't control your weight loss. Of course, if you eat a deficit and exercise, you will lose weight. But the "when" and "how much" are much more fluid. I…

Fabulous! You can see a big difference in your mid section. You look awesome :)

Great job! You can see such a difference :)

I'd love some friends who log in/post daily. I've been on here just over 150 days consecutively and I've noticed some of my friends from when I first joined are no longer active. So please feel free to add me and I promise to like your posts, add comments and just be an overall supportive friend :)

Feel free to add me. I don't have as much to lose (have lost 25, have about 35 to go) but I'm on every day and like to offer support/encouragement.
