I liked PB until I discovered almond butter and sunflower butter - now I prefer them. I wish they came chunky though, chunky PB has the best texture.

When I am not able to run at a time that feels safe to me (light out and a well-populated trail), I use a treadmill. I just don't think it's worth it to run outside when you feel that the threat is sufficient to need a weapon. I'm not trying to convince you not to carry a gun, but how is it worth it, psychologically, to do…

I have a brand-new skirt from Anthropologie that a friend was about to donate. I rescued it and it has been hanging in my closet ever since. It's two sizes too small and I can't wait to wear it.

Uncle Sam Original, with 2 tbsp half'n'half and either strawberries or 1 tbsp maple syrup.

This is completely untrue. Try science.

If you're leaving off those extras, yeah, I think it would come in around 180. You could try putting the ingredients into MFP separately (guestimating ounces of cheese and chicken) and see how it comes out.

If you look on the website, it says that the nuts and the granola are not included in the 180 calories. I can see how vegetables, a small amount of fruit, chicken and a little blue cheese would be 180. MFP has several entries for this salad. The salad w/ the nut blend, granola, and FF honey mustard comes in at 420.

I like chicken breast or thigh with chopped celery and green apple, and just enough real mayo to moisten it. You can also use 0% Greek yogurt mixed with seasonings in place of the mayo.

I highly recommend Marathon: You Can Do It! by Jeff Galloway. Runner's World also has good training programs. A small word of warning about Disney: The map makes it look awesome, but there is a LOT of parking lot and boring highway on the course. Very well-run race, but a lot less scenic and a lot less time in the parks…

Ignore the snark. We're all at different places in our fitness and health education journeys. But I agree, go forth and Zumba. You won't get bulky.

Most young adults in the UK have jobs. So no, I would not say that they don't want to work. Sorry your application pool has not borne fruit for you yet.

If I feel like it, I do. If I feel like it would be nicer to lie on my couch with a hot water bottle, I do that. I usually feel fine after the first day, but I don't force myself to work on the first day if I feel like crap.

These fun threads always turn into half fun :drinker: , half preaching :grumble:

There are lots of high-quality bagged teas. I don't like bothering with loose, even if there is a flavor advantage. I split this bad boy with a friend once and it really helped me figure out what kinds of tea I like. No citrus and no rooibos - anything else, bring it on.…

I switched to sugar-free syrups years ago and eventually just stopped sweetening it. Now sweet coffee tastes pretty weird to me. I do occasionally make a maple latte with real maple syrup. I put half and half in my coffee - I don't like it black, and 2 tbsps is only 40 or 45 calories.

You don't need a reason to not have kids, you need a reason to have them. I had them because I wanted to have that particular kind of love in my life, I want adult children when I'm old, and I predicted that my partner would be a great mom and have beautiful babies (both turned out to be true). They are expensive and…

I don't want to either. I wish I was one of those people who can intuit how much to eat, listen to every last tiny bodily signal, or just effortlessly maintain my weight. Wishing did not make it so. Thus, here I am.

First, to fit into my smaller jeans. Next, to fit into a bunch of clothes I got from a friend, currently two sizes too small. Last, to love the way I look in photos and to set a great example for my kids as a balanced and healthy person. (They are currently 16 months (twins) and their admiration is based entirely on mood,…

Considering OP said the locker room is normally empty, if she is an exhibitionist, she is not a very good one
-
Well no, it's not a nude beach, but the whole point of having a locker room is so that you can comfortably go about the business of showering, etc. I'm sorry that she exceeded your comfort boundaries, but she was not doing anything wrong.
-
Yeah, you're a prude. Sorry. Also, you don't need to rush changing your bra. Nobody cares.

I agree, SF if just for the summer, Portland if looking long-term. This calculator can give you a *very general* sense of the cost of living: http://money.cnn.com/calculator/pf/cost-of-living/

I think working a lot makes it easier to lose weight b/c you don't spend as much time in social situations. But I guess it depends on your personality - I'm a social/opportunity eater, not a stress eater. Here are some things that help me: (1) Don't eat the free stuff at work - catered lunches, birthday parties, meeting…

I have 16-month-old twins, am job hunting and working, etc. I think there are a lot of us out there :) The thing that keeps me going is that I know eating junky food doesn't solve my problems or make me happier. It just makes me feel sluggish and guilty. ONWARD, CARROTS!

I am glad that my brother is not so judgmental that he spends our entire vacation together analyzing how I eat. As many others have said, fat people know they are fat. She knows about the internet, yes? She has, or knows how to find, a doctor? A bookstore? The library? There are a million sources of good information about…

I am proud of myself for logging today. I will worry about Christmas, on Christmas. :flowerforyou:

All mornings, cup of coffee + 2 tbsp half and half (the real stuff) = 45 calories. Some afternoons, iced latte with skim milk = 120 calories. I used to drink them sweetened, switched to sugar-free syrups and then to no sweetener. I don't miss it at all.

5'4" Heaviest: 188 Lightest: 161 Now: 183 Goal: 150 I maintained for years between 165 and 175. Got a bit older and my 'high' creeped up.
