  • i follow slimming world guidlines, as the syns keep me in check wit the naughty things - before i would have chocolate as long as it was within calories - sometimes hundreds of cals worth, now i turn to a healtheir choice because the syns wont allow for it. its made my food diary on here look thousands times fmore…
  • i also suffer from hypothyroidism and im on 100mcg a day of levo. my last levels were under at 0.02 so i lowered my dosage from 150.. when i asked for a full panel the nhs didn't do it, surprised the drs ast ignoring their request and just gave us a tsh level. i have found that i did struggle to lose weight on TDEE minus…
  • i too am doing slimming world i think it makes you make better choices with food
  • hi emma, i follow slimming world and count calories because i find sw helps me make better choices with food, ill add you, ive lost 4 stone so far - then ive had a bit of a stall because i was diagnosed with hypothyroid issues
  • hi guys, a little update, so this week went back to cleaner eating, snacked on melon at night rather than filling my calories with biscuits, more important switched from TDEE method to NEAT. lost 2.8lbs im ecstatic to finally trigger it moving again, thanks for your help.
  • ok thanks i will, trying to eat cleaner too and i feel better for it, i was just fitting what i could into my calories like biscuits etc, so this week ive changed up my food too, i really hope ive found a solution, if i know what to do to make it work then i can do it, just finding what works for me i guess. im desperate…
  • No neither could myself of my dr, she was like, i actually cant believe they have ignored my requests! anyway im hoping to see a loss this week, ive reduced my cals and reverted back to the NEAT method in hopes maybe eating TDEE minus 25% might of been not helping ( maybe over estimating?) so im hoping this was the real…
  • they just refused her point blank, she wrote t3 and t4 levels, and then posted my results back on just TSH
  • My tsh was tested 2 weeks ago she requested a whole panel and got a note back from hospital testing my blood saying it's not a done thing. My levels came back showing 0.02 so technically hyperactive with no symptoms. I thought that if anything would allow me to lose weight easier? Anyway for those that asked I still have…
  • That's brill advice thank you.. your right my food choices are sometimes awful. I have tried to be better today. Snacking on melon etc. I will try these changes for this week and see what happens
  • I started power walking a couple weeks ago would that play a part in water retention you think? Or am I clasping at straws lol
  • Ok brill thank you.. the 1 servings I have are my own recipes as an old sw member I'm notorious with making things from scratch so I do it in the recipe builder. I'll take all your comments on board thank you.
  • im going to try neat methof of MFP this week, i might be doing things wrong with TDEE so im only going to touch the calories that i burn with ,my polar h7 - net calories for saying sitting on the sofa.
  • my trend is more of a horizontal line though, ill make my diary public
  • can i ask what your levels are? mine are currently at 0.02 and im still struggling to lose weight
  • im so jealous of this, i would take up running if i had an environment like that! at the minute i walk ( power) and i do body combat!
  • been on levo for a year now, and my current levels as from last wek are 0.02, euthyroid, im half expecting my dr to ring and suggest reducing dosage but i dont have any hyper symptoms so im going with what works for me, as for weight, regardless of my thyroid being off or fine, i still struggle to lose. i lost 4.5 stone…
  • I'm doing a cut of 1600 this includes all exercise calories I have about 2.5 stone to lose
  • is your exercising consistent, as any change in intensity or frequency can result in little water retentions for muscle repair. to use the TDEE method you have to be consistent with your exercise.
  • i only use to get aburn of 400-450 per zumba session hun, anyway is 1600 yo ur TDEE allowance or are you eating exercise calories back?
  • I had 8lbs gain in two weeks was distraught. This week lost 5.2lbs still trying to work out why.. currently stopped the mini pill in hopes it's that causing me to retain water.
  • thank you everyone, i keep my fat down to prevent any nasty side effects, ive altered my fat percentage on here to make sure i keep within the guidelines, all is well, but too be honest im not seeing the benefits yet as its hidden by this water gains, on TOTM - its my first day today and its so painful, so jesus christ it…
  • hi everyone, an update - so this week i lost 5.2lbs, so the answer is definitely water, does anybody know the causes for this? does anybody recommend water tablets? is this the result of my contraception mini pill? is it just a coincidence that the first week of not taking them i lose this?
  • nope i thought it should be implied due to me being a member for years, however yes i do weigh and measure everything i eat. i also count calories burned on my polar h7, which i dont eat back as im doing the TDEE method,
  • not necessarily, ive gained 8lbs in 2 weeks and not eat too much, i can vouch for every grape!
  • im sorry but this is me all over, i train doing body combat 4 times weekly, i stock to a TDEE allowance of 1600 as this includes any exercise. this week i gained 4lbs, last weeks i also gained 4lbs, im not new to this, ive been a member for years and i always the thought the yo-yo of my dieting was from my under active…
  • are you weighing and measuring everything?
  • Hun I'm in the same boat. 8lbs in 2 weeks no idea what it can be even went drs and he believes it could be my mini pill reeking havoc with water retention. Are you on any sort of medication or birth control?
  • Ha ha very much not pregnant yep weigh and log everything. Been drs today so he reckons it might be my mini pill having a negative effect on water weight too. I told him everything I told you. He doesn't believe my thyroid is out of whack as I'm still functioning great otherwise. So he wants me to try the other pill. And…
  • Ok thanks for the advice. I don't know how anyone can gain 8lbs in 2 weeks without trying. I must be holding a lot of water for whatever reason
