  • I may be able to help. If you are runnging in the cold, your base layer should NOT be cotton. This will just keep your body wet from the sweat. Your base layer in winter should be something that will absorb the water such as DryFit, Thinsulate. These will help wick away the sweat from the body. Happy Running.
  • I know I am a little late but here is a list that I use. It took me a while to find some upbeat songs to run to so good luck on your search. Kellie Pickler - Best Days of Your Lfie Flo Rida - Club Can't Handle Me Right Round Maroon 5 - Makes Me Wonder Moves Like Jagger Edge of Glory Avril Lavigne - Girlfriend Pittbull -…
  • That looks like a lot of fun but ohhh soooo cold.
  • If you have an iphone, I suggest you get the ap "Get Running". It is about $2.00 but it is worth it. I started on week four because I already had running experience but it helped out a lot for me to get back on my feet. Good luck. The mud runs are awesome and you will have a lot of fun.

  • You definately need carbs to run. That is where you get your energy from. I have a bagel or banana an hour or so before I run. The heavy legs do not really sound like something food related. In my opinion, I think that your legs are just tired. Try building up slowly to the amount you run instead of running that distance…
  • I am a Christian female and would love to help support you. I am in the same vote but a little younger. 35 years but still love the Lord. I am need of support as well. I did quite well on here over a year ago but then Christmas came last year and I dropped off for a year. I have been only on for a week this time but…
  • I love to run so I know how hard it would be to have to stop. I think we become addicted to running. Running through the pain is what most of us do, but I was told that if the pain does not go away after two miles, then you need to take a break.
  • Getting a support system on here (friends) is a good idea. Not only do you hold yourself accountable but they can cheer you on or help you out.

  • Shin splints are tough. I am a runner and after a year of running I finally got them (because change of running location). They definately hurt. After each workout, she needs to take three ibprofen and ice the leg for at least 15 minutes. It took me about two weeks of this routine until the leg got better but it will work.
  • I was in a position like that as well and I dreaded to go wondering when I was going to have time. After about a month going, I was excited when I got the chance. Now after going for six months I feel bad and disappointed in myself if I don't go.
  • Fish is always a good choice if you guys like the taste.
  • The p90x is great for losing weight but it is more for building muscles. But as we all know, muscles help with losing fat. I am not going to lie, it is hard the first week but that is just because you are just starting a new workout. Your muscles will ache but it is the good ache where you know you did well. If you do try…
  • I am there with you. I am not one that eats breakfast often but I do try. Lately I have been eating the 60 calorie jello puddings so I can get my metabolism going.
  • The Good Ole TEXAS here.
  • You may hate it at the beginning but will be thrilled to accomplish it. It does take a few clases til the pain is bearable and I would recommend only two to three days a week. It burns lots of calories. Don't forget your water.
  • It is such a hard task to do, but it can be done. I was drinking at least 4 diet pepsis in a day. It was my "water" and of course I did not drink any water except at night. Like most have said, just cut back one at a time. This will help but after you still go one a day and then cut back, there is no escaping a headache.…
  • Awesome, I love that place.
  • Thank you all for the input.. I will definately bring some healthy snacks for me and my kids, although they love eating all grandmas cookies and ice cream. I just have to remember to portion myself. It will be hard but I got my mind set.
  • By not eating enough calories, your body is going into starvation mode. In this stage, your body will do all it can to keep it alive by slowing down your metabolism and trying to burn less calories and keep the fat. You need at least 1000 calories a day to keep yourself out of starvation mode.
  • You should wait until your cold is over. People get sick becasue their immune system is done. Their immune system is down because you do not get enough rest. Fully recover and eat right and let you body catch up.
  • You will do great this time. Keep your mind in the right setting. This site does help a lot, especially when counting your calories and fat are so important. I would suggest putting this page as your homepage so everytime you sign in, this will pop up. Then you will be able to keep track of your calories much easier. Good…
  • Nice to meet you and congrats so far on your 20 pound loss. That is great. You must be doing something right. Keep it up.
  • The Ab Coaster really does work and you see results in weeks. The only downfall to this is it is so expensive. I was lucky to have my husband buy it for me to give me an incentive to lose some inches in the waist.
  • Hi there, welcome. I am new as well but I already love this site. I just wished that I had found it a few years ago. Oh well, better late than never. Good luck to you.
