  • I went out of town this weekend with my husband and my college roomies for a wine tour......six wineries later I felt so bloated and overstuffed that I'm too scared to step on the scale today. I guess we just need to get back on track. I'm finding it easy to exercise regularly, not so easy to eat right!
  • Thanks for the comments all! It sounds like this just might work. I have already found myself turning down goodies that I would otherwise eat. My jerky husband in the meantime got the flu and instantly lost 5 pounds. Let's hope our new treadmill helps us both! Here's to winning $100 in 6 weeks.
  • I feel your pain zenmama! I was hoping to get down to 175 by Valentine's Day...but alas, I can't seem to break 180. When I feel this frustrated a great and wise movie line comes to mind. "Just keeping swimming, just keep swimming." - Okay, so maybe Finding Nemo isn't that great a movie but I have to believe that if I keep…
  • Have any of you tried a challenge like this? My husband and I are going on a spring break trip to Florida at the end of March. We decided to do a biggest loser competition - whoever loses the highest perentage of their body weight wins $100 from the other person. Now THAT is motivation. But...I am a bit worried that our…
  • I am struggling to break 180 - still! Weight at the start of the challenge -188 Lost so far - 6 pounds Lost this week - zero  Goal - 175 I think that if I can just break 180 I will be happy as can be! I am going to take my running clothes to school and force myself to run before I come home everyday this week.
  • I truly feel your pain! I'm a teacher so my day starts at 5:30 and I usually don't get home until 5:30 at which time I continue to do work for school or this week, work on my Master's thesis. I feel overwhelmed and overextended and just crappy in general. I walked in the door and cried today just from frustration. I too…
  • I have had a bad week of not keeping track of my calories on here very well, but I've really been focusing on eating dinner at home (a frequent challenge) and packing my lunch everyday. I'm working on writing my Master's thesis and a huge portion of it is due next weekend. Daily freak-outs and feelings of having no time…
  • I have many reasons but here are a few: Like many of you I would like to avoid family health issues - my mom is turning 60 and has never been in shape and she's paying for it now. I want to be healthy and happy at 60...and 26. I would like to get in better shape before kids - something to work my way back to after babies.…
  • Checking in after one week - I'm down 2 lbs. Started at 188. I'm now at 186. I'm shooting for 175 for Valentine's which will be my lowest weight in years!! I so hope I make it be my hubby and I just booked a romantic getaway that weekend and I'd love to show off in something slinky! (TMI?) :blushing:
  • Yikes!! :noway: I just weighed myself today and thanks to my holiday food enjoyment I'm back up to 188! Love the challenge...I want to be down to 175 by Valentines. Best of luck to all!
  • I have never weighed myself daily. Everything I have read says your weight can fluctuate 5 pounds in a day! I weight myself once per week on the same day each week and at the same time of day to try and make sure I can get an accurate picture of where I'm at. I'm sure there are many methods that work for people - I think…
  • What are your foods that always trap you? I've had two of mine in the past two days....fettucini alfredo and pizza. They are the two foods that I overeat when I have them. Now I'm feeling guilty. Trying to mentally prepare myself for a better day tomorrow. Can't we just wipe out all pizza joints?
  • I love Smart Start - very high in fiber. I think it is the best tasting and still very nutricious. I thought I was lactose intolerant and was eating it with light soy milk for a while. Very good! I was also doing bran buds for a while with dried cranberries to add some sweetness. Worth a try! I also love to eat the Weight…
  • I have PCOS too. Didn't realize it could pack weight into specific areas...but that does make sense. I do think it makes losing that weight around the middle more difficult. I started running this summer and my legs and arms toned up right away but my tummy looks the same. So frustrating! I'm hoping that varying my…
  • I started working out and watching my eating when I was off from teaching in the summer. I'm 18 lbs down from last Christmas (yay) but my weight loss, motivation and exercise went downhill when I went back to school. I hope this will help me finish what I started. My dog and I need to get in shape...here we go!
  • I have always read that working out first thing in the morning before you eat is the best way to go. Jump-starts your metabolism and burns fat, and it is also supposed to help you keep your food choices in mind at the start of your day. I can't seem to get myself out of bed to do that unfortunately. So, I work out…
