I'm right there with you. Not getting any results from my various attempts. It's like I'm in the habit of waking up, so I wake up and lay there. I've tried getting up to read, but I just don't get tired. It takes its toll.

My goal is also to get to 125, but I've got a little further to go to get there. Admittedly, I don't try very hard in the summer because my daughter is home and we eat lunch out a lot. I get a lot more serious when back in the routine of school, though.

You could have an insulin problem -- get your A1C tested. If you are insulin resistant, you could be having some real problems shedding weight. I know because I was tested and still deal with this problem. It's not always as simple as "you're not eating at a deficit". One other thing ... be sure to eat some breakfast. IT…

Gee, those Lay's potato chips are on sale for $1.88 a bag. What a great deal! I should buy them ... then I eat them. Because NOBODY can eat just one. Letting go of buying things "on sale" and spending more to eat better foods has been a challenge for me.

Just to clarify, she was not being mean ... just kidding me. We love each other dearly and I did not take offense. She knows how hard it will be for me to say "goodbye" when she leaves because she's been my whole world for 17 years. But I can't wait to re-capture the "old me" now that it doesn't feel so selfish. (Why do…

Understand these feelings. It's hard to find the energy for good choices but sometimes forcing yourself until it becomes a habit is the best you can do. Best wishes to you.

I have a similar dog ... sniff sniff sniff ... not a matter of training, as I've trained lots of dogs before. Some breeds are just sniffers and it becomes an impediment to exercising the way you want. So, my husband and I (on a good day) take our brisk walk, then come back and pick up Fido for a short one. Otherwise,…

That is really awesome! Keep up the good work!

Your starting weight/goals mirror mine. I would be so ecstatic to be at that goal weight in August!
-
I needed to read this! That is so inspiring!
-
Not familiar with it, but sounds interesting ...

Also have been in a spiral of eating too much the past few days. Told myself I would get on track yesterday, then didn't ... went over calorie limits by about 250, but worse than that, just bad food choices. Hope today is the day to re-claim my determination!

I think for sugar you have to just go cold turkey and then the cravings take care of themselves. And by all means, get that sugar out of sight ... even if it means putting it in the freezer. This was a hard weekend for me, too.
-
OMG - I am pre-diabetic and I went right to the sugar, not asking the Kroger pharmacist about diabetic help.

Congrats on your motivation to get started. It's not as easy as when we were younger, and it may take more perseverance, but I'm ready to get back on the wagon after eating WAY too much Easter candy.
-
Up 3 pounds this morning. Ate another chocolate Easter bunny. And Lay's bbq chips. So mad at myself.

Why B12 injections? I had a nurse ask me if I got them and at the time I wondered why she was asking that?

I am so sorry. Been there, done that, but not as severe of a situation as you are going through. Please don't run back to the familiar and trust what everyone is telling you -- the best of your life is yet to come. One other thing to possibly explore when you are ready is that there are all kinds of jobs for people with…

Well, did not do well today. Started off with a sausage McMuffin from the golden arches en route to my daughter's swim meet (since Lent is over, treated myself to some meat). I know, that's illogical thinking and I felt guilty until I went home and logged it - "only" 300 calories. Not so bad. Then after the swim meet, I…

If ONLY that 5 week optimism ever really happened. Maybe if you're in your 20's with a fast metabolism.
-
Yeah, must be easy for some people to judge because their weight loss journey is so easy. I guess we all wish we were you.

I have suffered with insomnia most of my adult life (my mind wakes up with 5,347 things to think about). I was told by my dr. that you naturally go through another sleep cycle around 3:00 am so it's not at all unusual to awaken then, but getting back to sleep can be the issue for many of us. I am going to go the other…

My hairdresser was prescribed phentermine, and yes, she lost a fairly dramatic amount of weight. HOWEVER, she stressed that she was doing the work with very careful watching of her portion sizes and used a smaller plate for meals and ate high protein bars for breakfast and lunch. Some hairdressers in her salon looked at…

I'm 5'3" and 154 pounds... My goal is to look like you!
-
Lounmoun - Hit the nail on the head. I am PUNISHING myself, i.e., I don't deserve nice clothes yet. I agree with everyone with all the good suggestions. Thank you!

My goals for the month: 1) Lose 5 pounds 2) Be more conscientious about carb intake 3) Keep working on the plantars fasciitis issues so I can walk more without so much pain
-
I understand your frustration ... I am very slowly losing and have been at a plateau for over a month. Yesterday I was ready to throw my hands in the air and say "I give up". And, I believe that you are accurately measuring portions, etc. I do that as well. It's very easy for someone else to say you're obviously doing…

Experiencing the same thing. 2 months at 1200 calories and not much happening at the pace I want it to. It's frustrating to see so many others losing 15-20 pounds with the same amount of effort, and I just feel "stuck".
-
I meant to imply that I only lost .1 pound but stated it wrong. Should have said I started at 160 and now weigh 159.1 instead of the 156.5 I "should have" weighed.

26 pounds since January? Are you kidding? I've lost 8 pounds since January and I've done all the "right" things with 1200 calories a day and moderate exercise. About 2 cheat days this entire time period. (You're probably younger than me.) I congratulate you on this very impressive weight loss!
