  • Sounds like you need to take a close look at the way you track your calories both in an d out. My guess is you are off on both.
  • I started C25K 3 weeks ago and just finished week 5 day 3 last night. I weight train 3 days a week with a trainer in the mornings and run on those same days in the afternoons when my wife can join me at the gym. So far the only thing I have noticed is I tend to eat less in the afternoons on the days I run.
  • I put on 10lbs last weekend! It couldn't have possibly been all fat but I stepped up my exercise this week and am back down. This weekend will be clean living with more progress.
  • Where can I find a study that shows Diet Soda will make you gain weight? I hear that all the time but have yet to actually see a study that shows it. I have seen some studies that show a consistency that diet soda drinkers are typically overweight but not even one study that shows diet soda has any thing to do with it. I…
  • Sucks people act like this. I am kinda lucky in the fact that I honestly don't care what people think.

  • Thanks it was a life changing experience. And it was so nice to not have my weight and fitness level be an issue.
  • I was very surprised I didn't see it until page 3 but hands down RAD!
  • When I was younger I would often grow a gnarly beard and would even get strangers commenting on the need to trim it. I would simply say "I like to keep it long because it helps me mind my own business." It generally would get a laugh from at least anyone with me at the time so now its my go to move when ever someone says…
  • I love pop tarts but only eat them while in the great out doors. I keep them in most of my packs and after a long hike or dirt bike ride I don't even feel bad about enjoying them at the top of a mountain.
  • One of my all time hate the most things is people calling me big dog! I have had the on again off again loose gain problem myself for some time. This is by far my best effort and I am currently in the best shape of my adult life. What has worked for me this go round is a personal trainer. I train 3 days a week with him and…
  • It seems like your husband would not be much of a gentleman if he let a younger lady have a late dinner alone in a strange town. I would much rather my wife have a late dinner in a strange town with a male coworker than alone if for no other reason than her safety.
  • What about changing up your weight training and going to more free-weights and dumbbells? I personally think you will see better results than using a machine.
  • Thanks for the supportive words. Im not a self conscious person and if it wasn't for the fear of leaving my wife and kids behind when I have a heart attack at age 35 or the fact me weight has started to interfere with my hobbies like Ice Hockey and Dirt Bikes I would be ok with who I am now. but your correct its just a…
  • Thanks for laying it out in a depressing way. I have man boobs and a big belly all I need is a mirror to tell me Im obese LOL. But I have started wearing some old XL shirts the past week or so. Its nice to have one less "X" in front of the L
  • Be ready for a sore rear end! I got my sister to start going with me its been a few weeks and she is just starting to get used to the seat. They build them for speed not comfort lol.
  • Other weight training. Arms, back, core Keep it high reps low rest time and you will be sweating and burning calories.
  • Today was my first day ever doing dead lifts! My trainer has been working me up to them because he said so many people hurt them selves doing them but as of today Im one of those people that can do it with proper technique. This is only my 5th week weight training and its starting to get fun!
  • I have always avoided lifting weights because I didn't want to look like an idiot. I have been lifting with a personal trainer twice a week for a month now and feel comfortable doing it on my own now that I know what I'm doing. Maybe just learning how to do the exercises will help you feel better about doing them in front…
  • I don't do a cheat day but I do have one cheat meal a week. ON those days I eat breakfast and lunch just like any other day but dinner I do what the family wants be it pizza or what ever and I don't even bother counting the calories in that meal.
  • This weeks lunch for me is Chicken snow peas and carrots. All cooked yesterday weighted and vacuum sealed for the week. For me it gets old by Friday but it helps keep me on track to not have to think about what to do for lunch other than when my wife goes shopping and Sunday when I cook it. ok so I guess I cant drop…
  • I was just looking at some pictures today and looking at those I can see it. Looking in the mirror I still just see the same fat guy. I really think another 25lbs and I will see it in myself.
  • I have good friends that tease me about my weight all the time. While it doesn't bother me because they are friends but I can see how it would hurt. On the flip side I often tease my friends when we do things like ride dirtbikes and 50 miles in they are beat and ready to call it a day I just laugh and say something like…
  • I had mine out at 16 and it was a breeze. I actually played ice hockey the next day. I had an oral surgeon do mine and was put out with general anesthesia so I think that helped a lot.
  • Thank you everyone for the supportive words!
