  • Oh wow - I didn't expect the reaction I've received. I absolutely want to do it. A sprint triathalon is a short tri - it's like a quarter mile swim, 10 mile bike and 5k. I have always been athletic & the swimming & biking are no problem. I fear the running. I think the c25k program might work for me. I appreciate the…
  • I'm signed up to run a 5k on March 11th. I had my 3rd abdominal surgery in 3 years in November & trying to get back in shape is killing me!! I also used to be an avid runner - I did a marathon in 98. I would love some encouragement & accountability! Add me!
  • You haven't failed if you're here trying. You just haven't succeeded completely yet. Look for the little victories every day. You say you're making HUGE changes - but that is so daunting! Set yourself up by doing one day at a time. Set small achievable goals so you can create a pattern of success, which will make it easier…
  • Not sure what the challenge is but I'd love some additional motivation. What are you going to be doing?
  • I work from home a couple of days a week. I make sure to get out and walk the dogs at least once, maybe twice. Now that the weather is improving, I've been walking to get my lunch. It is definitely difficult to stay motivated!
  • Yes- I've been logging EVERYTHING! Even just having that accountability makes me want to be better. I don't want to cut it out completely - just till the surgery so I can have the best chance at a quick recovery. I didn't with the last one & it was about 3 months before I could do much of anything. I don't want to waste…
  • I do not consider myself an alcoholic. I am not "powerless" over this. I just want a support network to help me get into the best health I can be in before this surgery. As I understand it, that's what this community section is for. Support.
  • Me too! Giving up alcohol will be hard for me. I could use the support!!
  • I am super tall - 5' 2 1/2" - yes - that 1/2 is important!! I would love friends to help motivate me!! My biggest issue is wine also!!
  • And also to have a community of like-minded people! MFP is awesome in that! Feel free to add me if you would like the encouragement!
  • Happy to be a buddy. I am also from Denver - relocated to WA 3 years ago.
  • Keep with it! Your body is adjusting.
  • I feel your pain!! I've been stuck at my current weight for some time. Just watched "Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead" - inspired me to start juicing. I'm not really a bandwagon type of girl, but I am really excited to just detox & reset my body & the way it functions. I've been doing this for 3 days now (I know - not long) but I'm…
  • Me too! 5'3" 170 - I have my 25 year high school reunion in August - really want to look good for it!! Add me!!
  • Thank you everyone for the comments! I like the idea of not drinking at all during the week. I'll make it a part of my cheat meal on the weekend.
  • I need to lose 50lbs. I love the motivation - adding you now!
  • There are days when I have the same issue. I have to make certain to add snacks into my diet. I also added kidney beans to my salad just to increase the (healthy) calories I was taking in. I also do a cheat meal once per week where I don't go totally crazy, but I eat whatever I want in one sitting and have too much wine.…
  • I am in the same boat as you! Except maybe a little more oompa-loompa shaped. I'm 5'3" and have 50 lbs to lose. But I am finding MFP to be super motivating & I am loving the community & the accountability. I too stuff myself when I feel bad. And drink! So I'm trying to make changes in my life to take away the feeling bad.…
  • That's awesome! Good job! I don't have breathing issues, but I have horrible leg cramps when I work out. If I can get through a couple of weeks consistently, they will go away. But it's been a year since I've been there. I love this community. I am inspired & feel like this is it!
  • I agree with nikki87lewis! I only weigh myself when my trainer puts me on the scale. To make you feel better - I worked out with a trainer for a year & lost ZERO lbs!! Granted, I spent 4 months in a boot with a broken ankle - but still! I had all my measurements done on Tuesday & it was horrible & shocking. Self-esteem…
