  • Hi there. Annie from UK here. I was part of this great group a long time ago. Lost my way with MFP, but I'm back and, I'd love to join you all again. I seem to have been maintaining for a while now, but really need to kick start the losses again. Look forward to chatting with you all. :glasses:
  • Fantastic! Thanks for sharing.
  • I'm still around. I am doing WW online at the moment, so not logging on MFP. I love my MFP pals, and the challenges on here so I check in most days. Here to chat if you like.

  • Oooh, I know how that feels. I will be 59 later thus year, but like the rest, I have no idea where that time went. I lost about 30lbs -ok, so I lost it slowly - but then holidays happened, and then i broke my ankle and it all stopped. Somehow i managed to maintain while my ankle mended. Recovered now, and starting to…
  • Hi, I'm 58 and have about 15lbs to lose to get to where I want to be. Have switched between MFP and Weight Watchers, and back several times. Still trying to figure out what works, but I love the support on MFP and for that I keep coming back. I'm just recovering from a broken ankle which meant that I was unable to exercise…
  • SW : 181 CW : 153 GW ; 148 (for May) Weigh in Dates : 1/5 : 153 8/5 : 153 15/5 : 152 Have managed a bit more exercise this week. Today, 1 played my first 9 holes of golf in 4 months (since I broke my ankle) and am totally wiped out. Happy I made it all the way though. Hopefully I can play a little more this week.
  • Wow, fantastic achievement. You look great!
  • SW : 181 CW : 153 GW ; 148 (for May) Weigh in Dates : 1/5 : 153 8/5 : 153 No change. Just can't seem to kick start the weight losses again. I am planning to keep working on the exercise. As my ankle improves I should be able to do a little more each time.
  • SW : 181 CW : 153 GW ; 148 (for May) Weigh in Dates : 1/5 : 153 I'm kind of starting again for May. I broke my ankle at the end of January, and my OH has been doing all the cooking. My goal for the time I was unable to exercise was not to get back to 154lbs. Well I made that one - just! Now to shift some weight again.
  • I'll give this a shot. Sounds like fun. I've been maintaining recently as I broke my ankle and spent the last couple of months with my foot off the ground. Need to kick-start my weight losses again. SW : 181 CW : 153 GW ; 148 (for May) WI day is Thursday, so I'll be back in a couple of days.
  • I'm in the UK too, so can't join in. Good luck, its a great challenge.
  • Well done on your weight loss. I'm struggling at the moment as I can't exercise, due to a broken ankle. Hopefully willeby able to move a bit more soon and can get off this maintenance plateau.
  • How is everyone doing? I gave tracked every single thing I ate or drank for the last 2 days and was surprised how close to my daily points I was (I'm doing WW) I'm not doing so well with the water. I don't find it so easy to keep my intake up when the weather is cooler. Any suggestions for that anyone? How do you make sure…
  • I think weekly challenges would be best, otherwise its easy to loose focus. I can't join in any exercise challenges at the moment as I'm still in plaster and not mobile. I could join you in any water drinking challenges, or similar. You could do a 5 a day challenge (fruit and veg), or even a track every day challenge (even…
  • I'm claiming a success for January. Having had a week away on holiday, where I broke my ankle, I decided that the best I could do was to maintain until I was able to do some activity. I have managed that for the last 2 weeks. I'm waiting for the time when I can join you guys in the challenges. Keep going everyone - we will…
  • Hi everyone Thanks so much for the invite. I enjoyed the pound a week group last year, and for a long time it kept me motivated. Somewhere along the line I lost the plot. Glad to see the pound a week group back. I've not got off to that great a start. I have done the new Weight Watchers programme for the last 2 weeks. Last…
  • You are so right. I have been going to meetings for about 8 months (in the UK), but I don't find the boards very supportive. I don't know about in the US, but they can be very catty - and full of stupid questions! I don't log on mfp at the moment, but I would like to get back into the supportive groups again.
  • Hi everyone I was part of this group for the about half of 2013, and it was really good. I hit a bad patch and spent quite a while making little progress. Having said that, I ended the year a stone lighter than I started. I have joined Weight Watchers because I enjoy the face to face meetings, and at the moment am not…
  • Hi, I've not been on here for a few days. Been busy, but doing what i don't know! Time has just seemed to escape me. Hope weigh in was not as bad as you had hoped. Its mine this evening at class so I know how you feel. We have had a busy weekend. Went to a retirement party on Saturday, and whilst I managed to avoid the hog…
  • Hello there, and welcome. The group seems a bit quiet at the moment, so perhaps we could add some life. I guess there are a lot of people on holiday at the moment, and maybe things will pick up later. There is a chat thread too if you are interested, just join in.
  • I think there is some kind of script you can install which also gives you the points. Can't tell you exactly what - have you tried looking back through the older threads? Someone else may be able to point you in the right direction. I'm not logging on MFP at the moment because I signed up to monthly pass (UK) and I get…
  • Awh Chipper, I am so sorry to hear that. Maybe as you say it was his time, but it still hurts just the same. Thinking of you.
  • Hi Chipper Sorry I've been AWOL. I logged in the other day, and its all changed. Couldn't find my way round - it was a little late at night! What's happened to the site? I'm not sure I like it, especially the news feed. Late congrats on your 36th anniversary. We will celebrate our 35th in April next year. Normally we don't…
  • Hi Chipper I'm gardendolly. I'm racing towards my 58th birthday, and decided about 18 months ago that if I don't do something about this weight i'll be stuck with it forever! I did the old WW plan, which I loved and lost over a stone. Then I lost my way, and tried several other things including calorie counting here on…
  • Hi Chipper I read a lot too. SInce I dont log on MFP anymore (doing WW online logging), I don't seem to quite fit, bit I have made some great MFP friends and am reluctant to lose them. Its a shame everything gets so quiet in the summer, because we all need the same support and motivation around us - i guess that's just…
  • Hi Amber 3lbs is a good start. Just keep doing what you are doing. You will get there. I'm sad to see the online boards so empty because when I started they were a great source of help and motivation. Will send you an FR. Annie
  • Have a look at the NHS Choices website. Not android, but there are a series of mp3 podcasts which you can download. They take you through the programme stages.
  • I don't have any personal experience of juicing either. I think because I read somewhere that if you juice, because you remove the fibre you need to point your juice. There must be something on the WW website which would help.
  • Well said. It does work. I have had a couple of attempts at WW, not got the results I wanted and given up. This time I have stuck to the plan, and its working. I've had a couple of blips, but have stuck fast and have lost 5lbs. I am only 3lbs away from being in the next stone bracket and that's my focus for now. You are…
