  • I have no rhythm or coordination and to top it off I don't particularly like to dance or workout where others can see me (lack of coordination and all) but I loved Zumba! It really is a lot of fun and I think everyone was too busy watching themselves to worry about/notice anyone else. Also, after doing it for awhile, I…
in Zumba?? Comment by angeliqueib June 2012
  • How does it happen...For me, I was always underweight (think just skin &bones) until I got pregnant with my daughter. After I had her, I was a healthy weight but it was all baby fat weight. I joined a Zumba class, was nicely toned & in shape, but underweight again. My class was canceled and I stopped exercising...voila,…
  • This is a tough one! My favorite bands to see have been Tool, Sevendust, and NIN. I'm going to go with Tool at Ozzfest in 98 because watching Maynard strip onstage was good fun and Sevendust earlier the same year because Morgan Rose came outside before the show and hung out with us fans
  • I'm on week 2 day 2. I have never liked running but I am actually enjoying this! I'm currently using a treadmill. With a small child at home and temperatures in the 100s running outside is not an option I care for but I'm hoping that by fall I'll be fit enough to run outdoors without looking like I'm dying :p
  • Just finished Day 2 of level 2. All those planks make me want to die!
  • I second the recommendation for the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning. It was fantastic! The Sookie Stackhouse series is also good fun. Anything by Anne Bishop, especially the Black Jewels Trilogy is good IMO. I don't think of myself as a romance reader, but I would say that series would fall in the paranormal-ish romance…
  • I started over the weekend. Today will be day 5 at Level 1.
  • I'm in the same boat, only with just one child. I did so good at making time to take care of myself last year. Then Sept. rolled around! My daughter had more activity days this year and I did more at/for her school. I fell right back into the habit of just grabbing a quick bite when I could and stopped working out. Now I…
  • I want honesty and support without judgement. Sometimes I may have a bad day or things going on that affect my choices and I don't want to be made to feel bad about that. I will probably feel bad enough on my own. I think support through the ups and downs is important....something along the lines of--hey, you had a bad…
  • Hi! I think that either way is fine. I would imagine that you will see an increase in strength as you progress and so may be able to increase the weights as well. I'm on day 4 and have definitely noticed a difference in my stamina during the cardio (I still hate the jumping jacks!) and I feel like I could probably use…
  • Does it count as baby weight if my baby is about to turn 5? Last year I manage to completely loose the baby weight doing Zumba and eating right. Then school started, the class was canceled, and I went back to snacking around my daughter's activities instead of eating right. Now I'm right back where I started. Anyone feel…
  • I'm in! I know I am nowhere near 10,000 steps in a day now but I have been trying to increase my steps daily. This will be a great motivation to try harder!
  • Welcome! I'm a mom of one with a similar issue. My daughter is so busy that it's often hard to find the time to workout. If I do it during the day I have to plan around her activities and then hope that she will stay entertained when I do find the time. Nothing like having to dodge a 4 year old while trying to circuit…
  • Hello and welcome! I am also from New Mexico :) Support makes such a difference and MFP has certainly been good for that! Feel free to add me if you'd like
  • Hello and welcome! I am relatively new myself. Feel free to add me. Support is always welcome :)
  • Hello! Your story sounds awful similar to mine. I never had to worry about my weight until suddenly one day I saw that I did! I know that for me it was a shock to see my body change and to realize that I finally had to put some effort into losing weight. Here's to getting off our bottoms (or in my case, losing some of my…
  • Definitely keep drinking water. This was really hard for me, but I found an app on my phone that constantly reminds me to drink some. It has finally become a habit and I feel much better, and less hungry, because of it. As for activity, walking is great :) When I started trying to be more active I dug up a pedometer my…
  • You can add it the same way you would add anything else. Just search for whatever it is you are drinking. I've found that the database has a pretty extensive selection of alcoholic beverages...and that vodka is the best, though certainly not tastiest, choice for low cal. Hope that helps :)
  • I am new here as well. I love how supportive everyone is! Feel free to add me :)
  • Feel free to add me as well! I am also new here and would love more friends to help keep me motivated :)
  • I'm new to this as well. Feel free to add me. I'm a mom to a soon to be 5 year old girl. Finally spending some time on myself!
  • I am originally from that area. I grew up across the water in Yorktown. I loved living there!
  • I completely agree! I would love to lose a few pounds, but I'm much more interested in gaining some muscle tone and improving my overall health. I'm quite new to this and would love some added support and encouragement! Of course, I'm willing to provide the same :)
