Here is a post I created in MFP Community in October 2016 with instructions on how to use My Meals to create a Recipe on the web version using the Old Recipe Calculator instead of the Recipe Builder. It is much easier to do it this way than trying to search for items using the Add Recipe Manually function of the Recipe…

This happened around the spring or summer of 2015, when MFP was planning a major update to the serving size conversion algorithms on the Android, iOS, and web versions. Here is an explanation I posted in October 2015. >>> This seems to be the result of MFP's "enhanced" feature to convert serving sizes automatically from…

Scanning a barcode returns only the printed number on the barcode label - it has nothing to do with any information printed on the package other than the barcode number. That barcode number is used in place of a text search of the MFP Food Database to find an associated record in the Food Database. The information in the…

I would recommend opening a Case with Customer Support on the MFP Help/FAQ pages... http://myfitnesspal.desk.com/customer/portal/emails/new

Are you scrolling to the bottom of the recent list? There should be a link to search the entire Food Database.

The Recent list is a query (search) of your Food Diary, similar to a Google search (query) of the internet. Just as someone cannot currently delete things from a Google search, an MFP user cannot delete things from the Recent list query. The Recent list exists as a one-time search result of the items stored in your Food…

I posted this list a few years ago, but here again is the list I put together for spices in descending order of Calories per tablespoon. Source: USDA National Nutrient Database, data set = Standard Reference, https://ndb.nal.usda.gov/ndb/search/list?ds=SR Spices, Calories per tablespoon Spices – Mustard seed, yellow, 53…

Are you using iOS or Android? I've got MFP for Android, but an old version (4.8) from around September 2015. Since my Diary goes back to July 2013, my Android version always dropped older items when the data storage limit was reached. I wonder if the roll-out of the "Restaurant" logging feature, or some of the newer app…

I can't be sure, but for the Recent list query (predictive text search) of the Food Diary, I don't think there is a time period cutoff. I would think it is most likely a mobile device memory storage limitation. Most apps set aside a maximum amount of total memory to include the required app software programming memory…

I believe the Garmin software developers did the work to push Garmin exercise activities to MFP and still do. Other trackers, such as Fitbit, do not push individual activities to MFP. The Fitbit activity tracker section is more robust, so I just check the Fitbit app and don't worry about logging any exercise activity in…

The amount of adjustment a person may lose depends on how active they remain until midnight local. I do not make it into bed until 11 or 11:30 p.m., so I rarely see any decrease before the final sync at midnight local.
-
Use the web version and navigate to MY HOME > Settings > Diary Settings and scroll to the bottom. https://www.myfitnesspal.com/account/diary_settings
-
Go to Menu/More > Nutrition.
-
On the mobile app, tap the word Today at the top of the Diary. That will bring up a calendar selector.
-
Turn off Bluetooth on your mobile device and unlink them. If it does not work on the mobile app, make sure Bluetooth is turned off on any mobile device near a computer, then use the web version of both MFP and Fitbit to unlink. Then relink using the web versions. Then turn on Bluetooth on the mobile device.

MFP had a major Christmas week glitch in December 2015 that lasted for about 10 days into January. As part of the January 2016 fix, it seems MFP implemented a grace period beyond midnight for login streaks. I do not know how many hours or days the grace period is, because I have never tested it out.

MFP was founded and is located in San Francisco, California, United States of America. They designed the database based on the US FDA basic Nutrition Facts label. The FDA regulations require US manufacturers or any companies that package products for sale in the US to report Total Carbohydrates (including dietary fiber…

"Wild rice, cooked" is 101 Calories per 100g cooked weight. https://ndb.nal.usda.gov/ndb/foods/show/20089 Perhaps you have wild rice? Wild rice is not the same as ordinary Asian white or brown rice. "Rice, white, medium-grain, enriched, cooked" - the ordinary Asian varieties - are about 130 Calories per 100g cooked weight.…

I have been using the MFP web version for over five years and have no clue on what you are seeing. I have never seen that.

Are you on the mobile app? If so, which one: iOS or Android? Are you talking about the Video Tutorial labeled "Meals and Recipes" on your mobile app?

It depends on your personal stats (gender, age, height, weight, BMR); weekly weight gain/maintain/loss rate; and what MFP Activity Level you chose: Sedentary, Lightly Active, Active, or Very Active. The Fitbit reports your total daily burn to MFP; MFP provides the Fitbit Calorie adjustment based on how many more Calories…

It might be an easter egg side door kind of thing. When I viewed it, there was the option to edit it. I did not try to edit it because I did not know what would happen, whether it would save to just my Recipe database table, or would update the other user's Recipe database table. I'll put that on my list of maybe check it…

I have not seen that capability before. I am not part of the beta testing team. Possibly MFP is beta testing a recipe sharing feature on the web version, or it may be a part of the recent mobile app releases? I only use a three year old version of MFP for Android, so I am not familiar with the newest mobile app features.

Don't believe everything the MFP software tells you. A long time ago, MFP thought they would offer a share recipe feature, but they never did. You can not share your personal recipes directly with another user. You can log a saved personal recipe to a meal slot in your Diary, and another user that has access to your Diary…
