  • I had this problem and I started eating chicken breast and turkey breast which are packed with high protein and almost no carbs. Same with tuna. You could always drink a protein shake or even protein bars if you are still struggling. Meat, cheese and eggs are your best bet for intaking more protein into your diet. x
  • Yeah I strongly agree that MFP over estimates calorie burn and the only thing that is going to be accurate is if you use a HRM :)
  • MFP target for me is 1200 calories which is personally too small of a calorie target when I'm trying to get a good balance of protein, carbs and fat. I eat the 1200 and say I then burn 500 calories, I will eat them back (IF I'm hungry). Exercise is of course a good way to build muscle, get fitter & burn fat but exercising…
  • I guess its just the downside of eating fresh foods. I went shopping on Monday and brought turkey, berries, soup, chicken, asparagus and nuts.. didnt get much change out of £30, you can see why people use the 'eating healthy is too expensive' excuse eh :'(
  • I was thinking that maybe the frozen berries would be very sweet and I tend to take them to work for snacking in between meals.. can imagine them being quite sour almost! But a good idea for mixing in with smoothies or yogurt though. I guess its just a case of trying to find the best offers as ASDA do a reguar offer of two…
  • Ah you guys are the best, lots of great responses! I was considering the frozen bags, do they taste just as nice? It is odd because in ASDA this week i picked up a MASSIVE punnet for £3 but then next week, it'll go back down to the tiny ones!
  • Thats lucky. I have a choice of a local town with stalls which would be shut once I finished work or going to the expensive supermarkets :(
  • Yeah I understand the length problem too! Its annoying because I always find loads of jeans I like in the regular section.. but they are always miles too long and dont do them in the petites! Its like they think we are like an average height of 5"6!
  • Instead of a 'cheat' week, why not have 1 treat meal a week where you don't keep an eye on calories, fats etc. in too much detail? One bad meal wont make you put on weight, in the same way one good meal wont make you loose weight. I tend to do this once a week, i think of it in this way; 'If i don't have it everyday, or…
  • Weight isnt everything, this can change due to water tension, time of the month, bloating, most importantly muscle gain etc. Use a tape measure to track measurements as inches can be lost but the scales can say the same.
  • Firstly, congrats on being so dedicated to exercise, water intake and diet. Regarding the scales, ive learnt that the scales aren't the best thing to watch when loosing weight. Sounds crazy i know, but our weight (especially us ladies) can really increase and decrease because of water tension, time of the month, muscle…
  • Thanks guys for the advice! I might just do a bit of circuit training as normal but do Pilates as more of a toning exercise instead
  • It was 20 minutes standing work and then 20 mins floor work.. the standing work was quite hard, the floor work was more stretching and really ab work if im honest. I was a bit taken back that 40 minutes only burnt 120 cals according to MFP
  • obviously not
  • Ergh i find the same! The ones at work (weight watcher ones) always show me at least 3lbs heavier than my ones at home and ones at my boyfriends house.. its hard to know what to believe so whilst i keep an eye on my scale weight, ive learnt to depend on the tape measure and the way my clothes fit. As for the weight…
  • I have a HRM which helps me measure the circuit training and cardio so I think the amount I burn is as accurate as I can get it. And no i don't weigh and measure everything.. things like home-made meals i would but sometimes its impractical to measure everything i eat as you can imagine
  • Sure, i think its one of those things you just assume fruit is good for you regardless of the sugar/carb element. I think its a good idea to cut down on the fruit and maybe try things like carrot or cucumber sticks instead and see how that goes in helping my plateau. Who knows! i guess the best thing to do is just try…
  • im 5"3 and currently 8 st 10, no idea on body fat im afraid.
  • and yes, sorry i do a mixture of weight training, cardio and circuit training 5 days a week - 60 minutes
  • sure, thanks for the help; average AFTER eating back 1400 outside of the gym, not very - office job, so sat down 9-5 aside from weekends where ill do my usual gym routine but also go for long walks. and i do use a food scale for measuring things like meat, cereal, vegetables
  • It was always set as 1200 (give or take because of eating back some exercise calories) but recently (last 6 weeks say) ive starting upping it and changing it to say, 1500 one day, 1300 the next, 1800 the day to try and change up my body and also to adapt to the amount i exercise. But still this isnt working, the scales and…
  • ^ this is VERY true! Knowing what shes going to say next is not a good thing haha
  • I also did 30 day shred then ripped in 30 .. I feel they are very similar but ripped in 30's circuits are slightly different as the movements are more intense but you don't have to do them for as long as in 30 day shred. It doesn't really matter which one you chose as either way you will tone up if you use heavy weights…
  • Yeah its weird, i don't know why but i just feel better when i've had rest. I know your body needs rest to recover but you'd just assume the days where you work out would be the days where you'd feel better.
  • oh wow really? well that makes sense. Thanks for the great post!
  • Yeah i guess it does depend on the person and their diet as well. On days i work out (normally circuit training) I feel bloated and knackered - strange!
  • Its like something in your head knows that theres no point working out hard to then go and eat crap!
  • a lot of people i speak too claim not to have time but then they sit and complain about the way they look! the way i see it.. no one has time until you commit and then exercise naturally will come before anything else - you plan a routine to fit it into your schedule!
  • yes! this is one of the worse side effects for women i think and i have certainly lost most of mine! I understand how this feed seems like ive lost a lot of weight and I do a combo of weights and cardio so im toned on the arms, legs etc but still trying to get rid of that annoying belly fat at the mo, hate that its the…
  • Yeah my collarbones stick out too and seeing the bones in my chest is a bit weird. I didn't expect my wrists to shrink.. my watch can now twist all the way round haha!
