  • You can add me if ya want...I'm in the gym everyday...lol!
  • Definitely Fage...usually with frozen banana & blueberries...awesome right after a workout!
  • Bahahaha! Ooooops...I think that hearty laugh was too much resistance for my abdominals...dang it!
  • Minimum of 6 meals per day: - sometimes as many as 7-8. Largest meals are breakfast and pre- and post-workout meals...the rest are spread out about every 2-3 hours. I even eat right before I go to bed. I do Figure Competitions/bodybuilding so this is what works. Lugging food around with me can be inconvenient at times but…
  • Sorry for the late reply but I've been a little crazed the last few days. I have 2 little "distractions" too and of course one of them has to be sick this week! I completely changed the macros depending on my stage of prep. In general, I increased the protein and decreased carbs and fat. Then, the last 6 weeks I cycled…
  • Welcome! I am also doing my first Figure Competition! It's in 8 days!!!! Its an amazing adventure to say the least and this site has been extrememly helpful. Good luck to you!
  • I will add either cinammon and a dash of splenda (or other sweetener) or if I'm having a chocolate craving, I'll mix in a chocolate protein powder which makes it a complete meal (protein and carbs).
  • I agree...you should eat several small meals throughout the day to keep your metabolism going. If you wait until you're hungry, you're almost always going to grab whatever you can or overdo it. The trick is NOT to get to that point! I eat every 2 1/2 to 3 hours or even more frequently if I feel that the previous meal…
  • Good for you! I know, very helpful right!?!
  • I think you answered your own question by saying you often get hurt! Yes, there is such a thing as too much exercise. It is often referred to as overtraining and can result in injury. You need to make sure that body has enough down-time to repair and replenish after vigorous exercise. I would say the schedule you have now…
  • I have done P90X a few rounds through and it has gotten me into the best shape of my life (after having 2 kids....) ! It does seem a little intimidating in the beginning and I wasn't able to do any pull-ups the first month or two but I started by using the bands (doing pull-downs in the doorway; one of the modifications)…
  • I know how hard it can be as I've been in that situation. Just make up your mind that you are going to get that grilled chicken salad and be the hottie in the bikini!!! After you've been on track for a few days you will feel great mentally and physically. Good luck!
  • I allow myself one "cheat" meal (within reason) and change up my fitness routine...that usually kicks me out of my slump. If that doesn't work, I look at myself in the mirror...then look at that bikini....that'll do it!!
  • I hear ya! I am just getting over that lovely feeling myself. I get cravings for chocolate, cheese, and of course the yummy salties (pretzels are a fave) but I try to distract myself or get the healthier versions if possible (lowfat cheese, etc). If that doesn't work, I make sure I measure out exact portions so I don't…
  • I second that post! I was faithful to the program and nutrition plan for 90 days, worked my butt off (literally!) and got in the best shape of my life after having 2 kids. Its nice to have the plan all spelled out for you so if this will help you to stick to it, then go for it! Good luck!
  • I second the grill with the removable plates! My first grill bit the dust when I was trying to clean it - took a little too much off! So, I bought the one with the removable plates. MUCH easier!
  • I actually have added a scoop of flavored protein powder to it....I have muscle milk light banana creme and it tastes pretty yummy in it and adds that extra protein (and only about 100 cals) to keep me full.
  • I agree with the shorts thing! I've lost pretty much all the weight from both of my pregnancies but have always struggled with my pear shape! I am happy to say I can proudly wear a tank top, but I am still very self concious in shorts, skirts, and swimsuits...
  • YEA for you! Good job and keep up the hard work!
  • Thanks for this one...going to try it this week...pasta is a weakness!!
  • I agree with some of the others...there is nothing wrong with a little treat now and again but we shouldn't ALWAYS reward ourselves with food. I personally LOVE when I can put on a smaller size in the dressing room...now that's a reward!!
  • I definitely ditto the take a small break from the running and try something different. I get bored easily and like to switch my workouts up. Not only is it good for the mind, but good for the muscles too!! When you cross-train, you work different muscles and your body has to work harder to perform the new activity -…
  • I think its best to have a little something...even 100 cals or so to get your metabolism going. Otherwise, as you said, the hunger will hit you (at the most inconvenient time!) and you'll be more tempted to eat something bad!. Go with a piece of fruit, small bowl of cereal, or sometimes I'll even have a light protein shake.
  • jchudon, oops! your numbers are correct but men generally have lower bodyfat percentage than women so just switch the men/women markers and the table will reflect the correct information i.e. essential fat: men 2-4% women 10-12% That way, you don't have to make it harder on yourself!! Thanks for the info!
  • I'm pretty sure I got it at Sports Authority...You can get them at pretty much any sports store but make sure you get one that has the chest strap (the ones that read on your wrist only aren't as accurate). 4 years ago I think I paid in the $70-80 range but it is pretty cool as you can input your gender, age, weight, etc.…
  • I did just that! Rather than wasting time trying to log in each exercise, I put "P90x Legs & Back plus ARX" or whatever into the strength section and I wear a heart rate monitor to get my calories burned and put that in the cardiovascular section as "circuit training". It seems to be working just fine and I will admit it…
  • I agree with the earlier poster who said it depends on your feet. When I was younger I ran in shox all the time and they were great...many years and two kids (and wider feet!) later, I had to return a new pair I bought because they were killing my lateral foot. This was many weeks ago and my foot still hurts! I replaced…

  • I own P90X, X plus, and many of Tony's one-on-ones...I am doing a second round of the x right now and will incorporate the other DVDs as well to mix it up. If you are able to invest or if you get bored easily it might be a good idea, I think they are all pretty great!
