  • haha, love it
  • Do you mean how many calories do you log for it? You can create whatever workouts you want if you can't find it in the database.
  • To respond to your question about rowing YES it can make you hungrier even later in the day. Rowing is an extremely vigorous exercise and will burn a lot of calories. It can definitely make you hungrier than you would be on a day when you weren't rowing regardless of what time it is. If you've eaten your meal and had a…
  • LOL, you're correct in that protein should be 10-35% or our daily intake. Americans tend to go way over that. We're definitely a protein lovin people, but it should fall within those guidelines. Going slightly over that is not a huge deal, but your diet shouldn't be like 50% protein daily - not if you're trying to eat…
  • Well, you definitely care or else you wouldn't be devoting so much of your thoughts to this. Is there anyone you can talk to? Like a dietician or a counselor? A lot of people have food issues, you are not alone! It is a real problem and you shouldn't feel bad about it. I would try to figure out exactly what is going on…
  • I've had mine for about a year. I ordered online through 24 hour fitness. I have the older version. Most people seem to prefer the newer one that syncs with your phone, but when I purchased mine I also bought the watch monitor that syncs with it so I'm ok with not having a phone app. for it. It's definitely a calorie eye…
  • I agree with the above poster who said the time doesn't matter as far as weight loss goes. I am NOT a morning person at all so if I try to force a morning workout, I'm way less energized, give less effort and don't burn as many cals. (I've measured.) I do most of my workouts at night. I can work out, shower and go right to…
  • I agree with the above posts. The only way you can know what YOUR body burns and not depend on an average is to get a good heart rate monitor, or what I use - the bodybugg. But that's a little more in depth than just calculating an exercise calorie burn. I had the same problem the first time I did the X, but once I got a…
  • What are you drinking? Even when it comes to alcohol, you can try to go for the lesser of all evils. If you were to have gin and tonic - yes there is still sugar and carbs in the alcohol, but it's far less detrimental than what you would find in beer. If you stick with just a few drinks that are liquor and tonic or diet…
  • I loved Kim Possible too! I also love Phineas & Ferb - I watch it every day. I don't have kids, I just like the show :)
  • You can do a ketogenic diet with HEALTHY fats. There has to be a way for it to still be healthy. They wouldn't prescribe it for epileptics just to ease the epilepsy but make them unhealthy. Just as with anything, there's always a choice of what foods you're eating. I haven't done quite a ketogenic diet, but I do often…
  • I think you're focusing on the wrong thing. You look great and your clothes are fitting great. You're obviously in great shape teaching all of those classes. But you're stressing out over a number that doesn't really mean anything, that no one else sees but you. EVEN though you know it's lean muscle - which is good! Maybe…
  • It depends on what you mix with it and how many calories you need for the day. I kind of consider everything I eat as a small meal so depending on the amount of calories I need for that particular meal - it will dictate what I add to it.
  • There's no right or wrong to this. Do what you feel works best for you. If I have to skip - sometimes I double up, sometimes there's no time. It depends on how your schedule is set up. Some people don't want their days moved around. Can you take it as your rest day and just skip your scheduled rest? You can pick up where…
  • They're ok, but are higher in fat. And yes, it's good fat - but still. You shouldn't be eating because you're bored. You eat when you're hungry. Does the eating fix your boredom? As a distraction, I usually try to drink a glass of water (you can flavor with lemon, mint and or cucumber) OR my go to is to chew a piece of…
  • Thanks chica :)
  • That's what I do. It's none of their business how much I weigh period and fitness and health is a lifestyle. So I just go about my business and tell people "these results don't maintain themselves!" They don't need to know what my ultimate goal is and it's MY body so however I want to look is up to me and not them.
  • Don't get discouraged! You're learning something new. No one expects you to hit it perfectly right out of the gate. Try looking at what you're eating and figuring out exactly what's putting you over. What can you cut back on. Portion size? High calorie snacks? For a few days - input all of your meals BEFORE you eat them.…
  • Same here girl! I got tired of having to travel to the gym and having to get there by a certain time! I haven't been to the gym in almost a year! I do all my workouts at home now unless I'm going to take a friend's live class. And I LOVE Turbo Fire and Insanity :)
  • I hope I count! I've already lost the 65lbs. but I'm proof that YOU CAN DO THIS!!!
  • Just go for it! You don't have to be perfect at it, you get better as you go along. And challenging yourself with that kind of workout totally BUILDS your endurance. I was amazed at the difference in my fit test from when I started to when I finished. It makes you feel really strong when you're done!
  • CONGRATS! Thanks for sharing with us. I forgot what it felt like to make those major milestones. I had the same one with the towel! And I also remember being able to cross my legs for the first time :) It's so exciting to see that kind of progress! Great job!
  • Nothing new to add - either a Heart Rate Monitor or the Bodybugg will let you know your individual calorie burn. I love my bugg, but if you're just measuring for workouts - a good HRM will do the trick.
  • OMG, wow! Congrats! I would try googling to see if there's a specialty lingerie store in your area to get re-measured. As far as clothing goes - just go to your favorite store and start trying stuff on!
  • Haha, reminds me of the intro to an article I read on Men's Health joking about how bad sugar is. "Say anything nasty about sugar and folks will swallow it. Sugar caused the recession. Sugar makes your nipples grow. Sugar keyed your car. Sugar's crazy—it knifed my cousin down at the corner bar last Saturday night." Read…
  • I agree with a lot of the above and think it's a good idea to stay off the scale. The quality of your calories does matter and maybe you should be eating your exercise calories. I know not eating them works for some people, but not for everyone.
  • Unless you're doing a lifting routine as well as cardio, it's probably not muscle. And if you're eating too little - your body will hold on to your body fat, so make sure you're eating at least at the MFP calorie guidelines. And also eating your exercise calories. Starving yourself is not the way to lose lbs. any faster…
  • It's so funny that you posted this! I just set a HUGE goal for the year, not quite a February goal but can't believe it took me until February to think of it. My goals for February: Workout twice a day, add weighted gloves to my workout, less cheating on my diet! My big, huge, hairy goal for the year: Help 1,000 people…
  • The average amount of calories you burn varies greatly from person to person. You can have two different people do the exact same workout with a couple hundred calorie burn difference. So much factors into it like your age, your weight, your height, your sex and your metabolism. I would aim to do a certain length of…
  • I agree with Ashlee! Don't freak out - just keep going. The scale is not the end all-be all progress indicator. There could be soooo many other things happening. Exercise is fantastic, so definitely stick with it. Give your body a little time to adjust to the new routine, drink lots of water and eat your exercise calories…
