Hello I am happy offer to act as mentor for someone new to MFP that wants to change their life. Today I celebrated my 1227th day of logging into MFP and I have managed to achieve and change a lot in those days. The first year was weight loss and learning about fitness and stuff through the forums and personal newsfeeds…

For me 2016 was all about attaining flexibility. I had been lifting weights for a couple of years but at the beginning of 2016 I had to rethink my approach as my issues with limited range of movement in various joints was making me hit barriers to lifting heavier plus I was starting to get niggly hip pains. So I did some…

I do aerial hammock. Everyone else in my classes are 20 something people with uber flexibility, while I am a 40 something person with almost nil flexibility but I love it and am determined to be good at it one day so will keep up the practice. I am buying myself gymnastic rings for Christmas as that would be a cool thing…

My muscles aren't particularly massive at the moment as this year I have been working on flexibility and agility with less focus on the weights but all the awesome back photos have gotten me motivated to switch back to hypertrophy goals  This is where I am at now muscle-wise

Skin fold test are about as accurate as BIA which can be effected by how clean your feet are, as well as the other variables. All of the body fat measurement are just variations different types guess work. It is an over-rated metric for non athletes but seems to be one of the most important metrics in MFP land.

Doing skin fold tests with a set of caliper and measuring girths a measuring tape is the simplest (and cheapest way of estimating body fat percentages. But I guess it depends on why you need to know body fat and muscle mass amounts as it is just a number and only really matters if you are trying to adjust your performance…

Comedy gold purely because I didn't have to read "kitten" instead of a proper expletive. And regarding the picture posted by pudgy - that is not a biscuit, it is a scone. Biscuit means twice baked. I am a big fan of flat out like a lizard drinking.

Thanks for your kind words everyone

Right now at 44 I am at my prime physically. I was very unmotivated to exercise for most of my life pre 40 years old. This changed when I hit 40 and I discovered weightlifting. The difference shows on my body and on my confidence.

I do aerial yoga and aerial hammock and weightlifting. I just discovered the aerial stuff a few months ago and it is the perfect accompanying activity to lifting. And the lifting makes the aerial stuff eaiser and the aerial stuff makes the lifting better and easier

I have been lifting weights for 3 years and in many ways it has transformed my life. When I started I was a weak and unfit 40 year old who had avoid exercise as much as possible to someone that loves exercise and is very strong physically and mentally. I can do chin-ups easily now and can squat and deadlift 90kg which is a…

sure there are plenty of people around - I just don't think anyone posts here

I have been lifting for nearly 3 years. Before I discovered weights I was allergic to exercise. Now I am almost a fitness addict.

Killing Eastern Bunnies sounds a bit wrong. Well unless your name is Donald Trump.

I love my leg muscles

I did end up abandoning it and adding it to "finish reading if really desperate" folder on my kindle. It was such a shame as I read "Day of the Triffids" a bit earlier this year and it was amazingly good despite its age so I thought Slaughterhouse was going to be similar. Just finished Book of the Night women by Marlon…

I do all my lifting in bare feet but that is because I do it in my home gym where the safety regulations don't count. I much prefer it to wearing shoes as it helps me have better balance as I can fully feel the floor. The yoga/pilates socks they sell with toes and grips on the soles might work just as well.

Slogging my way through Slaughterhouse Five by Kurt Vonnegut. It is supposedly a life changing classic but I am finding it a bit meandering and plotless

Pretend you are alone and just do it. The dudes ARE creepily fascinated but there is no better exercise for developing some amazing glutes.

Bumping for any new MFP members that are looking for fellow Aussies to find some support from other Aussies as the cultural divide on MFP is large.

I think the lifting thing for ladies has just not been well publicised apart from on specific fitness forums and on weird pinterest type links. It can be a life changer though in a way that other forms of exercise doesn't compare to re self confidence and changing perspectives I wrote these reasons why I am a convert to…

I don't think I have ever owned a PS. It is not a platform restricted game. You start worrying that your RL friends will also start making comments about your kleptomaniac activities surrounding dirty ashtrays (ceramic!) and toothpaste (antiseptic - what a score). You finally understand why all the kids are addicted to…

Your 10yo walks around the house singing "crawl out through the fallout baby" instead of the latest pop tune as Diamond City Radio station is now the only music your house listens to.

I want to buy all the weightlifting plates that I encounter at trader shops across the wasteland so I can also set up a gym in my favourite town. Life influencing gaming :)
-
Haha - I can totally relate to this one. The horse toy bit that is. P.S. Where is this horsey nirvana?

You laugh when someone suggests that you should be in the kitchen cooking as you know that you have already scrapped all the existing kitchens and you make your Mirelurk Omelettes on a campfire

Boston is crossed off your to do list of your places to visit - seems like a dangerous place.

I need to pick up scrap - who knew that lead pencils could be so useful.

I have just restarted doing the Strong Curves program. I think it delivers excellent results so I keep coming back to it after I have decide that I need to mix it up. I like how it has lots of accessory workouts that target the smaller muscles on the back and glutes.
