  • Ok...so I used to be religious about this site a year ago. I lost 50lbs. and was feeling great. I was running 4-5 miles 5 days a week and was looking and feeling good. Then, it happened. I got injured last Summer; broke a couple of bones in my foot and had to take about 3 1/2 months off from running. I then went back to…
  • Hi all! I have been MIA again. AGhhhh!!! School starts in a week here and so we have been running around trying to do the haircuts, supply shopping, clothes shopping, school visits and fee payment...you know how it goes. I have also been a bad, bad, girl....haven't logged once in about 2 weeks. I am still running 5 days a…
  • I really enjoyed reading all these stories. It's amazing how some stories can really stick with you and change your mind about who you are and what you want to be. I think even the humiliating moments are great moments if they make us change for the better. We just have to move on from the negative feeling we get in our…
  • a kit that was way to small....oh my!
  • ok...someone else has to take a turn and tell there story!
  • That's more miles than I even like to drive in a car! Way to go!!
  • Ok...so we all have one, especially if you are trying to lose the amount of weight I am. I thought it would be fun to post our experiences. I know it's not fun to talk about but maybe laughing at my story will make you all feel better!! Here it goes... When I was dating my husband in college (about 18 years ago) my…
  • Although I strongly believe in cheating...please tell me these two things weren't paired together!!
  • Shannon...you're killing me here. I think I am doing well by running 6 on a good day and then you talk about being dissapointed for only going a 11 1/2 miles...I'd be dead, not dissapointed. Banks....that's a great time on the mile! I am thrilled during the summer if I run a mile under 8.5 min....I mean jumping for…
  • Welcome Apseeley! Good luck on your jouney! Stay with it and you will succeed. As Sindy said, it isn't easy and it will take time and dedication but it can be done. The only thing I would be careful of is setting too lofty of goals that will make you sad and dissapointed if you don't reach them. 6lbs. in 2 weeks may be a…
  • Don't forget guys...if you plateau for quite a few weeks you may want to actually up your calories for a day or two. You never want your body to get in the same old routine...expecting the same workout, the same calories, the same workout time and length and the same meal times. Change it up every once in a while...I swear…
  • You'd be surprised how many people say this! Keep up the great work...make sure you are eating all the calories you have to eat so that your body doesn't think you are trying to deprive it! I promise, it may be slower than you want and be a hard journey, you will get there! Don't give up! Once you lose the first 2-3 pounds…
  • HI EVERYONE!!! I have been MIA for quite some time now. We have been so busy tyring to squeeze in a few last minute road trips to visit friends and family the past month! School starts in 3 weeks!!! YIPEE!!!! Well, I have been very diligent about running and weight lifting! I have lost 4 more pounds and I am now 162.5!! I…
  • Hi all! It's been a while since I have been in the loop of things so I need to catch up. We did a couple back to back mini vaca's with the fam! I kept up with running and have lost another 4 lbs. in the past 2.5 weeks! Yipee!! I'll take it! So PMKelly--where in NoVA are you? We used to live In NoVa. Just moved from there 2…
  • Get out there and exercise today!!! Everyone have a great day!!
  • Angie I will be thinking of you!! Good luck! Way to go Sherri! I put in 5.5 miles of interval training on the treadmill today. The humidity and heat are way too much for me to run outside for the next few days!! I feel good though I ran 15% incline at 5mph all the way up to 8mph at 2% incline (intervals) it was a good…
  • I have three beautiful children who I want to role model good behavior to...proper eating and exercise. If I don't do it now and stay with it they will follow in my foot steps, the wrong ones. I want to be healthy and live a long and happy life with my hubby who has always made me feel like I am the prettiest woman in the…
  • According to a friend of mine who is a cardiologist, he stated that you should stay within your target heart rate zone if you are out of shape. If you are out of shape and pushing your heart above 90% for an extended period of time you could do damage. When you are running, exercising etc. you should be able to carry on a…
  • here is one that I found that I have used...hope you like it, we did! http://www.greekrecipes.gr/grs/grsp.php?recipeid=204
  • Jenn - don't get discouraged you know that can become a vicious downward trend. Just pick yourself up and start today. Even if you stand in front of the TV and jump rope for 15 minutes followed by some crunches, push ups and then tricep and bicep curls. Whatever you manage do is going to burn calories and make you stronger…
  • I agree with maddie's mom. As soon as I get up in the morning I put my running outfit on. I may not run until mid-morning because of my schedule and my kids' needs but I won't allow myself to change or shower until I get my run in. I have to be honest there have been a couple of nights that I have gone to bed without…
  • Hi all! Great job on the runs today! I managed to push out 4.5 miles but it wasn't fun...the humidity is really high here as well and I was running on a treadmill in my basement. It's amazing but you can still feel the difference in the air even in doors in A/C; perhaps because I have asthma. With my asthma, I find myself…
  • I agree....bump up your calories, your body is probably holding on to all the calories because it's thinking you are starving it. I always find when I raise my calories by 200 or so for a day or two that I end up losing a couple of pounds. Call me crazy but it works and I am always open to eating more food!!
  • Ok...so yea...3 posts in a row from me! Can you tell I am catching up for the day? Kechie- I run in Asics GT-2130....I love them! I hope you like yours too...whatever they are! I have to be honest....an act of God would have to happen for me to rise anywhere between 3:30 - 5:00 A.M. I have done the 5:30 thing before but…
  • Theresa...we are no different than you in the fact that we all had to start from the beginning too! I am sure everyone of us would tell you we were once there and very soon you will be able to run with the best of them. Keep up the great work!!
  • Way to go Lina!! and you betcha....every minute, heck...every second counts!
  • [/quote] buckeyebabe, if you have knee pain you should not run. Let yourself heal so you don't make it worse. there will always be another day to run. Trust me on this one. Enjoy your day at the zoo with your kids. I love going there until you have to explain why the bigger giraffe is on top of the smaller giraffe…
  • Good for you!! 158! That is awesome. I would love to be there but that's about 8 lbs. away from where I am! What is your ultimate goal? You are the workout queen!
  • 8lbs. over the next month....that's a lofty goal! Good Luck with it, I hope you succeed! It's that TOM for me and so the weight hasn't decreased for me this week at all. I will hopefully drop a pound or two by this time next week.....I hope.....I hope.....I hope! I have to start logging again though. That's my biggest…
  • I used to work as the Director of Social Services in a nursing home years ago. You're right...the residents can be brutal verbally. Many times they are just like children...they say the darnest things. Hang in there and use that as motivation, don't let it get you down. You can do it!!!
