  • Ok, this is what I found out. The Vestibular therapist came in today. After speaking with her, she came to the conclusion that it is my blood pressure. She said I need to slow down when I change positions. (Something very hard for me to do!)
  • After trying many things, I asked one of the PT's at work. It is all stemming from my vestibular system. I did the class today with the same south beach foods and was fine as long as I kept my head up. So, I will try some exercises that the therapist gave me so I can get rid of this feeling. I guess that is another problem…
  • I am from East Liverpool, Ohio. Just a few miles from PA and WV. Anyone want to work out at the Calcutta YMCA?
  • I agree! Well said. BUT, we need to add that the beach is on some tropical island and not where it is cold right now. Plus, we need to add that we have both reached our goal weight! :-)
  • Thanks for your help. I do have a BA, but not for personal training. I know I would have to take those credits, but I would be done with all the "weeder" courses. I did take anatomy and physiology, but chemistry was difficult for me. What other courses did you take for the degree?
  • I am a fan of South Beach Diet. Everytime I start the 14 day phase 1, I feel that way for the first 4 days. You should start to even out soon. Good luck and congrats for lasting through it.
  • Well.... I have a love/hate relationship with CHP. They are reason she had the TBI in the first place. Although they saved her life after they gave her the injury.... The neuro dept told us she would "outgrow" it. Her endo is in Edgewood Town Center. LOVE her. Her Eye doc just left there and went to Akron Childrens. We…
  • Make sure you eat during the day. I find myself eating at night when I think I am hungry and actually I am bored. So, I brew some tea or coffee and drink it instead. If fills the void and gives me something to do when I want to eat.
  • Yes. She has had a lot of blood work. Not sure if there is a misread from her brain to her muscles or to her endocrine system from the injury. I am trying to look "outside the box" since nothing has worked for the past 10 years.
  • I should explain things. TBI is short for tramatic brain injury. This was caused from a medical mistake. Her balance was affected so that she could never pass a "sobriety test". Is there a test to determine if she burns what she eats? Maybe she does not process protien as she should? Not sure what I am looking for, but I…
  • I am in Ohio, right across the border of WV panhandle. Are you close? I work out every morning and would love a workout partner. I had my last baby at 36 years old and was definately out of shape then. I have changed my whole attitude and feel so much better now (5.5 years later!). I started with South Beach Diet and lost…
  • Try cutting the carbs. I do south beach diet. It really works. Belly fat is the first thing that goes. Also, you could try core strengthing. I do sit ups, planks, and wall squats with weights to strengthen my core. Good luck!
  • I am from Ohio too! East Liverpool. I do South Beach Diet. Have been doing it for 3 years. It works and it is easier than it seems. Good luck!
  • When I was an A cup, I would wear the water bra. I looked ok in clothes but not out. So, I had a tummy tuck and got implants. I would not change it for the world. It was one of the best things I ever did for my self. Great confidence booster. No pain. I actually had to look to see if they did the tummy tuck because I could…
  • I have been low carbing it for over 3 years now. Breakfast is 2 soft boiled eggs and coffee/tea. Lunch, I usually eat low carb wrap with turkey, lettuce, tomato, ff cheese. Sometimes I do grilled chicken salad. Dinner is some low fat meat like chicken or fish. You could do pork. Veggies. Lots of them. I do South Beach. It…
  • That is awsome! Keep up the good work.
  • I usually do 30 min on the eliptical 5x/week. M/W/F I add weight training. T/Th I do a core values class for 30 minutes.
  • I heard that too. I did South Beach Diet phase 1 for 2 months. I did not exercise. I drank 1/2 my body weight in oz of water a day. I lost 25 lbs in 4 months. 5 more in the next month. Then, nothing. I kept it off for 3 years. Now, I am going on phase 1 and exercising and hopefully it will work.
  • I did get out the tape. Down 1" at the waist. I know it is helping, but after working so hard to lose the weight (scale wise) it is frustrating to see it go up. I have cut carbs out. It is helping. I will keep going. This is a long term plan for me. I did the South beach diet and lost it 3 years ago and kept it off. So...…
  • I started losing weight by dieting. I lost 30 lbs in 4 months and kept it off for 3 years. Only the past 6 weeks have I started with exercising because I still never lost the last 12 lbs. I did South Beach Diet phase 1 only. No carbs. It works and it is easy. Boring, yes. Tough, only the first 4 days. I have been under…
  • I am a 34 D (DD??) depending on the bra. I hate spending $ on bras so I buy 2 cheepo ones at Wal-mart and wear them both. They work better than any of the VS ones I have bought. The "girls" stay in place so I can work on getting rid of the jiggle in my wiggle!
  • I got the "sexy dieter". The Sexy Dieter is the person who places greater value on "looking good' than simply maintaining a healthy weight. Their mantra is "Do I look good naked?" Sexy Dieters tend to find success with weight loss programs that emphasize exercise along with a healthy diet. I should do the South Beach Diet,…
  • http://lowcarbdiets.about.com/od/thanksgiving/a/thanksgivingdin.htm I went to this site last year for Thanksgiving. There are some really great ideas. I do south beach diet so I googled low carb thanksgiving. You could look at foodnetwork.com or tasteofhome.com for "light" or low carb recipes. Have a great Thanksgiving!
  • Every day you should drink 1/2 your body weight in oz. If you exercise, you should drink more, but as a rule of thumb, 1/2 your body weight is easier than # of glasses.
  • I have the same problem. I do a class that focuses on core strengthening. I would also add doing the South Beach Diet. Cut carbs. Add protiens and fiber.
  • Thanks for all the comments! I do South Beach Diet, so I am already eating healthy. I walk alot. Now that the kids are all in school, I am going to increase my workout to include a kickboxing class. Maybe a butts and guts class too. It is just frustrating when everyone says I am fine (including my MD) but I still see…
  • I tend to eat everything in sight about a day or 2 before my period. Then, I get back on track.
  • Congratulations!!! That is great. Not great that you dissed your plan, but then again, so did I. I went on vacation and just got home and got on the scale. On the plus side, I only gained 1 lb. So, maybe I needed a break. I am back on the wagon now. Maybe we can jump back on together!
