This right here: "When I am asked for tips on weight loss, this is my response: You need to consistently be in a calorie deficit through diet. Not sexy, but effective. It helps me to take the emotion out of it - no good food. No bad food. Just calories." Love it! That's what long term weight lost boils down too! The trick…

As of this week I've lost 76 pounds enroute to 100. It taken me about 18 months but I've done it without any crash/fad diets or multiple hour daily workouts. I've slowly learned to eat better with the correct portion control. I bought a food scale and started measuring out what I ate. I still have pizza and hamburger but…

I used to go on a three or four month diet and lose 20 to 25 pounds just to turn around and gain it back plus five more. I used to tell myself "life sometimes gets in the way". Then in October of 2015 I had a fairly minor surgery and also my youngest daughter was born. At the physical before the surgery I clocked in at 324…

It seems mine are started to add up! This morning I ran 4 miles at an 11:00 minute pace. I only stopped 2x to tie my shoes. 18 months ago I couldn't even make it to my stop sign(half a block).

I feel the same way... i was in a 44 and didnt need a belt or a 46 and needed a belt. Now 38s are falling off of me. It's still hard to believe.

I added a few of you but I'm always open to more!. I post regularly, like to laugh(mostly at myself), and finally understand that this is a lifestyle and not a quick fix. 70 pounds down...30ish to go. Oh... and I'll turn 38 this month. B)

I'm staring 38 in face right now.

I'm not here to beat you up any further but I'll say it's possible. Definitely not permanent but possible. If i had to compare it would be similar to a fighter/boxer prepping to drop a weight class. It's possible but most of them will tell u it took a lot out of them. Plus the weight always comes back.

I've lost count I've started over so many times...But I'm still here and kicking it

Keep it up man! I'm 6'4 too so I know the struggle

As of today I'm now wearing 1xlt sized shirts! When I started this journey 18 months ago I was wearing 4xlt! I'm still in shock because its been easily 15 years since I worn this size.

Awesome awesome job man!

That's exactly what I've done. I would say I've binged on food a good part of my adult life. I'd basically starve myself for 3 months, loose 30 pounds then gain back 35. This was the cycle of life for years. Then 2 years ago I hit my breaking point. I attacked the sources of the binge eating. My wife recommend I see a…

I restarted my journey October 2015 ... One day at a time my man

Really the biggest thing I did was eat leaner cuts of meat like a NY strip versus a ribeye and lean ground turkey instead of ground chuck. I actually eat full fat dairy. But I think the biggest thing for me was/is portion control. It took a food scale to show me how much i was over eating.

I've been a lurker on MFP for probably 5 years and rarely post but I can say without a doubt for me the biggest difference is when i started tracking my macro nutrients(Carbs, fat, protein) more closely. Overall in the last 18 months I've lost over 60 lbs but I've plateaued since fall of last year. It's been the same 3 or…

I think stories like yours are the best! I'm on a similar journey.

Awesome man! I'm 6'5 and I can tell you it feels great. I started last year for the umpteenth time but this time around circumstances in my life were different. In 10 months I've lost almost 70lbs. My original goal was to get to 235 but I'm not sure I'll make it. Keep up the great work. Feel free to friend me too. I'm in…

It's a long road and frustrating at times but so rewarding if you can stick with it. Add me!

All great answers and I would like to add determination as well. I've been on this seesaw for well over 10 years with more downs than ups. Almost a year ago I said enough and promised to myself to do better. Do I live everyday like I'm a world class bodybuilder and nutritional expert? Hell no but I don't live the way the…

Stick with it! The number on the scale may not change but your body changes as you burn fat and gain muscle.

I'm in the same boat! I started doing strength training in March. Since then I've only "lost" about 10 lbs but I've lost almost 4 inches from my waist and i'm down almost 2 sizes in shirts. (depending on the brand). Keep it up!

Great story!

Awesome great story! I'm in my own personal battle with weight loss. In October of last year(2015) I weighed 330 pounds and by Christmas I was at 300. I was only doing cardio and eating a fairly healthy diet. In February I started weight lift at around 275 and today I'm at 265. I'm kind of bummed because the I've been…

My face... I noticed my sunglasses don't sit on my cheeks anymore :)

I no longer shop in the big and tall section for pants! I'm down to a 38 inch waist from 44-46.

I'm blown away! Great job!
