  • The comments are right on - I have achy, crampy legs often and the only thing that helps is magnesium (500 mg) daily, potassium (bananas or supplements) and tons of water. If I skip any of it, I hurt. Hope this helps you. . .
  • Bought a size 14 bathing suit in the misses section - not the plus size. Looks great and feels so good to be out of those suits.
  • I absolutely agree. I am hovering just over 200 lbs now, after losing 29 to get there -- and I am having trouble breaking through as well. But I know that as soon as I reduce calories too much - especially protein, don't drink enough water and don't find the time to lift weights - that I begin to go up. You body will…
  • You look wonderful -- great accomplishment. You know, lifting those weights now will begin to really define that accomplishment. Why wait? You will love the changes. . . Good luck with the rest of it.
  • Diet soda really sucks for you -- especially every day. Bring water and begin to wean yourself off. If you increase your protein during the day you may have more energy and not need the caffeine as much.
  • This is a great idea -- just mixed muscle milk into my coffee -- not a bad way to add some grams of protein. Thanks!
  • Absolutely will work -- I am a 45 year old woman who is about 5'5" -- need to lose 50 lbs. I "net" 1750 now after losing 20 lbs but was at 2000 net when I started. I was a binge eater too and now I never do that -- no need, I am not starving and can eat the things I love. I exercise 4-5 days a week - sometimes very intense…
  • YES! I take magnesium morning and night and the improvement has been great. Really takes care of the general muscle pain especially the achy legs that I used to have every night. Combined with a ton of water that nighttime leg issue is gone. . . Weather is a huge issue for fibro sufferers - changes in barometer that are…
  • Hi all -- just finding this today . . . I don't go on the boards a lot but this discussion interests tremendously. I was diagnosed with Fibro in 2001. it cost me a very good career in higher education and changed my life. However, 12 years later my life is much improved. The first few years were really tough as I navigated…
  • While I am sure that is going to be so helpful to the OP, I use a fitbit from time to time and it definitely makes me more aware of my activity level. Especially in a life full of work, raising kids, running an household and taking care of the zillion things most women of a certain age do. The reality is daily life isn't…
  • You look beautiful -- loving the LBD and the hair! You look years younger. Definitely an inspiration. Congratulations.
  • The same thing happened to me - I am down three and I definitely ate over the weekend. But I worked out and walked a ton and drank my water. I do think my body needs more at times and I am calm enough now to let that happen. There was no way I was skipping my mother's stuffing!! Good for you.
  • I have one and I like it. Makes you much, much more aware of your activity level and I also am getting a lot from the sleep tracker. It is confusing to sync with MFP and right now I don't. Seems people either link to have them connected or just use them separately. It is really tiny -- I clip it to my bra and it is rarely…
  • This just cracked me up --- high hopes for the first day of school. LOL We hosted an exchange student from Italy last year and we had to go through several phrases that just didn't mean the same thing here.
  • That is a huge psychological win!! Good for you -- enjoy that feeling.
  • Yes, Northern NJ -- Essex County.
  • Wow -- you sound just like me. I have lost 14 lbs, been at it three months. I am choosing to lose slowly but am averaging about a pound a week. There are some small changes -- mostly only ones I can see. I too, need a belt around my waist bands but haven't needed to really buy new clothes. My bras are loose and I have lost…
  • I would agree -- my family hates turkey bacon and I would much rather allow for less of the real thing. I can substitute turkey for a lot of things but this just isn't it.
  • You just hang in there -- and keep running. I am so sorry you had to push up with such sheer stupidity and rudeness but if you stay in the house after that, they win. And remember -- karma is a wicked bit** and they will get theirs. You keep working on it one day at a time and you just let us know when you need support.…
  • I agree with much of what has already been said to you. But it is obvious that you are frustrated. Losing weight and getting healthy requires a HUGE lifestyle change -- the path of least resistance isn't going to do it. Take the suggestions seriously -- begin to give your body REAL food - exercise every day, even if for…
  • Great job -- that has to feel good. Congratulations. Eagerly awaiting that day myself.
  • 45 -- in three months - lost 12 lbs and working on this very slowly, so that it sticks. Have chronic illness, two great teens, work part time and am into clean eating. Would love a few more friends too.
  • Damn! You are an inspiration. Definitely going to stop feeling overwhelmed by this process for myself and get moving. You look gorgeous and I bet you feel a whole lot better. Congratulations. . .
  • What an amazing smile on your face -- you enjoy every minute. You have earned it. Good for you for developing these habits while you are young. They will stick with you. You are a beautiful woman.
  • Thanks -- I have been doing something similar but definitely am looking for the turkey sausage crumbles. My kids will eat these too!
  • You look beautiful -- what a great shape you have. The best is how happy you look though. I think 130 is very thin for someone with your height but at 5'5" I have never been less than 140 in adulthood so body build is definitely an issue. Keep going -- you are doing great.
  • I can't believe I am actually adding in here but seriously, you are not giving your body anything it needs. Diet coke, buttercream frosting, fast food and diet products are not doing any good. You are not 20 and you have to feed your body the things that actually provide nutrients for bone health, muscle health, heart…
  • I enjoy Zumba but would suggest taking a class before you buy. . . for me, the fun of it is in taking the class and having other people around. You also learn the steps better watching other people. One of the most enjoyable forms of exercise I have ever done. Will be going to class this morning. . .

  • I do the same thing -- I start doing really well and then I relax and decide to veer off my plan for a meal, or for a day and then I get discouraged and want to quit. Sometimes I know I am my own worst enemy. Of course I am having no success losing -- I have numerous health issues that get in the way of a functioning…
