  • I have one kidney as well. If I only drink a liter my urine is darker. I need to drink 2+ liters in order for my urine to be lighter. I would double your intake of water and see if that changes the color. If not, then definitely speak with a doctor.
  • Thank you all. I am definitely eating in deficit, and I realize that is the most important thing to do for weight loss. I will ask my trainer about adding strength training, but for now I will keep my workouts a little lighter on off training days. I just like to keep active, diet alone does not keep me motivated.
  • Thank you for your reply. I do have a couple more months of training, so will definitely ask about weight training. I think in the future that will suit me best. We do have yoga classes and a pool, so I will be looking into those on off days.
  • I did understand that, hence the smiley face since sometimes people may read into someones response.
  • Sorry don't have my workout book at work, but it is a combo of exercises mostly body weight, such as burpees, mountain climbers, variety of push ups, and moving plank poses, etc.
  • They are short duration, close to maximal effort with about 15-20 second rest inbetween depending on my heart rate. Typically a workout lasts about 15-20 minutes. I understand that weight loss can be acheived without exercise, but I would like to stay active throughout this weight loss journey. :)
  • I have been eating vegan for a couple months now, but just started back up on mfp on Monday. My diary is open so you can check it out, and feel free to add me.
  • Your nutrition will not suffer if you cut out meat. Your body needs protein, but you can find it in many foods. Vegetables and fruits have protein. You do what you are comfortable with, and what you feel best eating. Just make sure you stay within your caloric goals and you will lose weight. I do not eat meat and my diary…
  • Work in primary care, see this all the time. Definitely can change things around with a low fat diet, exercise, and weight loss. Try and stay away from red meat, and only eat lean meats such as chicken, fish, etc Exercise will help triglycerides go down. If high cholesterol runs in your family you may want to talk to your…
  • Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year!!!
  • I draw blood every day, and 5 vials is really not that much blood at all. If they are checking iron levels, that can be part of you feeling that way, especially during TOM. If you were nervous about the blood draw, your body could have gone into fight/flight mode and once you came down (from anxiety), you felt weak, and…
  • Yoga is great to build lean muscle, and the stretching will help your running.
  • I found this article interesting, and it may give you perspective as to what is going on. http://www.coachcalorie.com/working-out-but-gaining-weight/
  • Thank you all for these suggestions. They all sound great!
  • Thank you so much for the suggestions! The red beans and rice recipe looks delicious. As for the chickpea's. Do you just add them to salads? Bake them for crunchy snacks? I just started eating vegan and have felt amazing, but I am also eating the same things over and over again. Looking to switch things up. Have bought a…
  • Add a packet of tuna to the salad, or a serving of cottage cheese with pineapple on the side. Definitely need more protein at lunch.
  • I do Chalene extreme and I love it. It is strength training and very different from Turbo Jam, so it just depends on what type of change you want.
  • I am 5'6 and about 158. I eat all meat, fish is hard. Tuna for some reason is not, but it has to be in mayo. Like I have said, I have tried fish every other way cannot stand it. I love grains, but have to be gluten free. Just looking for other menu idea's. I am currently stuck with oatmeal, banana's, and almond butter for…
  • Really don't like fish. I have tried so many different ways and just can't seem to get into fish. :(
  • Was having the same problem with stomach bloat, found out I was sensitive to gluten. Since eating gluten free it has been so much better, but consult with a doctor first.
  • Do push ups on your knees until you get stronger, and attempt sit ups (you don't have to do 50 at a time, just a couple to get you started). I had my baby 11 years ago, and I am still trying to lose that weight. :p Have you tried running? I hated it at first, but now I love it. I also do yoga and weights. That seems to be…
  • We bought a Gold's Gym one 4 years ago at Walmart. No troubles yet.
  • Feel free to add me as well. My food log is open.
  • We eat gluten free here due to health reasons. Feel free to add me. :)
  • Anyone feel free to add me. I am from Wisconsin in the US. Always love more motivation. :D
  • You can add me as well, but right now I only use it on Saturdays. Since it is too dark and too cold to run here during the week. Same user name.
  • Thank you for all the responses. It is 8 degree's Fahrenheit. I read that you should always dress 20 degree's warmer. I have to wear compression socks due to vein issues in my legs, but may put wool over them since they are very light. They also just said winds will be 25-35mph. Should be an interesting run for me.
  • I have a heart rate monitor, so I use that to get the calories burned during any dvd exercises. Though I know everyone doesn't have on. I have read people but it in the database under something similar, but always use a lower calorie burn. The database tends to over estimate. Definitely figured that out with my running -…
  • Feel free to add me. :)
  • I work out at home, running, yoga, and strength training. It is way more convenient and I don't have to worry about the way I look. :D
