  • I'm on Week 6 of INSANITY and have been through the whole programs twice already. Here are a couple of tips: 1. Shoes are a trial and error process. Running shoes didn't work for me. My NIKE SHOX worked pretty well. More important than shoes is make sure you have GOOD, THICK SOCKS. Don't be afraid to stop and change shoes…
  • I look at the INSANITY calendar as a "week-to-week" thing. I have from Monday to Sunday to get in ALL those workouts. I honestly think your body doesn't care if you do Pure Cardio before or after Plyo Cardio Circuit. I know sometimes I know I'm playing golf on a Saturday and schedule says "Pure Cardio-Cardio Abs" ... well…

  • Get to recovery week. The work outs change. I think they designed it that way on purpose. I always tell myself that if you can't do the whole workout with Shaun T, you still have work to do.
  • if you're not eating clean, you're doing a HUGE disservice to plan. Burning 500-750 cals a session does you no good if you if you're putting them back with 3 slices of pizza.
  • Sam's Club sells a bag of "Mesquite Chicken" in the frozen food section. You can microwave 2 breasts in 6:30 and it's 220 calories. It's too easy to be good for you; it's the quickest dinner I have available with the least amount of dishes.
  • We have 2 pugs and a 2 year old son. My son, Dominick, LOVES them and they will cuddle up with him and let him tug their ears. They are TERRIFIC with youngsters, even strangers' kids.

  • Get 2 Chic-Fil-A Grilled Chicken Sandwiches and throw out the bun on the second one. Double-stack the chicken, lettuce and tomato. it's about 500 calories total and it's a great, fast, FULL, balanced dinner (protein, carbs, veggies).
  • I have TWO playlists that I use during my workouts... The first is all hard rock with lots of 80s and 90s stuff. The second is all THEMES like Superman, Rocky, and other instrumentals. This is the one I use to push me through to finish.
