I guess it's a compromise day for me to make up for the 3,500 I ate yesterday...

If you know you're going to be doing a hard workout later in the day, plan to eat more earlier so that you can wake up your metabolism and you won't end up with a huge deficit at the end of the day. If you know you're going to work out and then only want a light protein snack to refuel afterwards, eat over your calorie…

I'm REALLY loving snacking on a serving of raw almonds. The store by my house has bags of barbecue almonds that are 165 cal/serving of 25 almonds so they're FANTASTIC.

I'm on here all day every day!! I'd love to do a clean out and get some new friends.
-
I also work at the on-campus gym 13 hours a week so it's pretty darn easy to jump on a cardio machine for 30 mins after my shift if that's all I have time for.

Yep, I feel you. I realized that in the summer, when it's blisteringly hot, I will sweat far less than I did during the normal activities of the day. I have lost probably another 25 lbs since last winter so I'm interested to see if I notice a difference between this year and last. Interesting topic and I guess sort of a…

I'm a senior in college taking 18 credit hours, with 10 hours/week at a part time job with 25 hours/week of rehearsal (I'm a theatre major, directing emphasis). It's often really hard to do what you need to do for yourself. Be sure to pack some healthy snacks with you. i love almonds or granola bars (but be careful about…

Thanks! I'll keep that in mind!

Bump. Anyone?

A penthouse on the Upper West Side, paid up front.

It's the only way to make it bearable!!

I consider it exercise because I always bring my stereo downstairs with me and play loud music while I clean the kitchen or the living room and dance/jump/sing/play. By the time I'm done, I'm sweating, out of breath, and starving! That's not what I would have done before MFP but now I just use it as extra cardio time!…

Yes, all of the yes.

Love it! Keep 'em coming!! I watched Saturday morning cartoons this weekend and bought a box of Crayola crayons at Target--COMPLETE IMPULSE BUY. Never had more fun than I did coloring with my 24 shiny crayons.

This.

I am exactly the same way. My diary is open so please take a look! I haven't been PERFECT the last few days, but I try.

Because I've been at 178 for almost a year now, I have people who I've developed relationships since who sometimes mention how I don't need to be careful about what I eat and I don't need to go to the gym 5 days/week and that I have nothing to worry about. It's so funny that the idea of fat and skinny can change so…

If you need drive-thru, I second the Taco Bell fresca menu. You can get three chicken soft tacos with only about 450 cal

Late at night is probably the worst for me and I usually give in with healthier foods. If I'm craving a salty snack, I'll count out one serving of Wheat Thins or Triscuits. Sweet cravings and I'll eat fruit or dark chocolate.

I track almost everything, I just sometimes tend to underestimate how much I actually have which is something that I've been conscious about but it still happens.

To clarify, I definitely know how to use an elliptical. I was just curious as to what it might equate to. It's definitely my primary cardio and I've been pretty successful with it ;)
-
Throwing my gym stuff in my bag for a post-work workout. It means that I'll be motivated to go.
-
I burn 400 in 35 mins on the elliptical doing interval with resistance and incline. I always cross reference the calories burned on the elliptical to what MFP says.

I wish I didn't love salty snacks so much. Chips, pretzels, ANYTHING. I also LOVE LOVE LOVE chicken fingers. When I'm cheating, it's usually fried food. Oops. That being said, I really don't care for anything super sweet. I'm not a huge cake person and I hate donuts.

I realized one of the motivations I have when I was flying from Chicago to Los Angeles yesterday. I want to be one of the people who you hope sits next to you on the plane rather than one that you pray passes by and sits next to someone else. It's a fine line but, to me, it's such a strong implication of so many different…

I'm the exact same way. I have to wear a size 34 slim fit just to fit my calves when I'm a size 30 waist! It's weird but it's something I've learned to embrace. It's always a nice pick-me-up when someone comments like "do you run a lot? you have KILLER calves" or "how do you have calves like that?! I want them" even though…

yep. it's just one of those discouraging days that I need to move past!! Also it doesn't help that I weighed myself on a new scale this morning that showed 189.5 lbs instead of the 181 that I measured two days ago at home. I know it's not true but still scary to see that number!

It wasn't a moment, it was the fact that I was HORRIBLY miscast in a production of "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" as the young romantic lead and my 250-lb self needed to look good in a skimpy toga. I got my *kitten* to the gym that night and every night until opening. That was last June and I've been…

You're in good hands, here. Begin with small diet changes. Once those become habit (and trust me, they will), change a little more. Slowly start adding more and more exercise. You'll be shocked just how quickly you'll start melting! Just don't put too much pressure on it because then the task becomes too immeasurable to…
