Im not a hardcore runner, but I prefer to run outside (I use RunKeeper to track my distance and burned cals). Treadmill bores me but I also use them during winter. :)

Strength, bulk and will give you more muscle mass. good for bulking on the low down, it will retain water in your body... so if you want to start cutting for summer, stay away from it. :)

I have an office job in NYC as well and I know how expensive it is to eat out for lunch everyday. Sleep sleep and rest. Once you are up and running again... it will give you a boost in motivation to go back to the gym!

Its fine. It will help you build muscles... more muscles will increase your metabolism... higher metabolism kills off the body fats. :)

There are a lot of good but cheap protein powder that you can buy at Walmart. Check out www.bodybuilding.com and search for protein powders and you can also read their reviews. :)

I always make sure my GYM is about 2-3 miles from where I live. It makes life more easier. I go to the gym to use the equipments and take advantage of that. When doing cardio, I just put on my shoes and run outside. Well except now because of this NYC chilling weather! :)

Eating at least 1g to 1.5 g of protein per bodyweight will help you build muscle. Having muscle will increase your metabolism. Having higher metabolism will increase your fat loss. You don't necessarily need to eat 1g / bodyweight. A high protein diet will lead you there especially since you workout 5x week.

Meal replacements are just "supplements" try to prepare and eat solid food. On the other hand they work for me to maintain my caloric intake. If weight loss is your goal, lower your caloric intake.

Not logging does not mean they don't do any progress outside of MFP. I haven't logged in for almost a year, but I still maintain what I think is right for me. MFP is a good tool to keep track and to stay on track of the cal you eat.
