  • I’m just getting started up after a several year break and I’m on a push to lose 40 pound by year end. Looking at journals and seeing others losing weight inspires me. Please add me if you’re looking for partners.
  • I’m just getting back into MFP after a several year hiatus. I sent you a FR.
  • Thanks for that very educational link...i will be more religious with my fish oil supplements. I always assumed the flaxseed oil was enough.
  • Add 6 or more eggs to these baked oatmeal bars. You wont know the ggs are there, and they are very tasty. Also freeze well...make a batch and uou can use them for weeks. I usually add some dehyydrate apples and cranberries for more flavor. http://www.katheats.com/favorite-foods/baked-oatmeal-snack-bars Edit: If you have a…
  • Yes, it is rough tasting when consumed straight. I use a combination of Flax Seed oil (30%) and Grapeseed oil (70%) when I make salad dressing. Less flax seed than grapeseed as the taste is strong, but it is not noticeable when combined with other oils. I can't say that I have noticed any particular health benefit, but I…
  • We use Isopure Whey Protein Isolate. It is lactose free and the easiest source of protein for the body to use (according to what I have been able to learn). My wife is lactose intolerant and has no issues. It must be whey isolate in order to avoid lactose. For pure vegetarian, we use Sun Warrior protein powder.
  • Please respond with the following 1. SW 221 2. SBF 26.3 3. CW 203.4 4. CBF. 26 5. Do you eat back exercise calories? (Y/N). About 25 percent eaten back
  • My dentist was able to fix my TMJ. Did a series of sessions where they use electrodes to ighten and relax the muscles of the jaw. Once it was loosened up, built a mouthpiece to hold the jaw in the "relaxed" position. Solved it or me...5 years ago, no more pain and I still wear the mouthpiece every night. Dont know if it…
  • Marcia Brady...she was groovy
  • I didnt like the ghee either, but the butter does not need to be kerry gold. Look for butter from grass fed cows...definitely unsalted. Around here, I found a brand called Humboldt Farms. I did have to go to a more upscale grocer to find it.
  • I made it 3 days...perhaps a better goal for January. I just cant bbq without a cold Sierra Nevada in my hand.
  • Agree!! Best avatar I have seen.
  • Ricky Gervais....lmfao. I miss his show "An idiot abroad". I was in stiches.
  • It's YOUR diet...plug in what you want. If you don't see any results, then your theory obviously did not work. Personally, I tend to overcount everything to insure that I get the results that I want. I don't subtract points for every piece of undigested corn I see.
  • Whichever one you decide, definitely research prices online. I found huge savings on my Polar FT60 by using Amazon compared to brick and mortar stores around here.
  • Mikey...love your logic. Hand-washing you britches later could even make it a negative calorie meal. Wish we had a waffle house out here ;-)
  • I would be more concerned with the symptom and less concerned about the calorie count. Could be something like a response to dairy allergies causing stomach distress.
  • My favorite is Laarb...a Thai dish. A traditional Thai dish, often eaten in butter lettuce cups. A blend of low-fat ground turkey seasoned with jalapenos, red onion, cilantro, fish sauce and fresh lime juice. Traditionally eaten cold, but I also enjoy it warm from the pan. Good for adding protein to your meal with a…
  • I let my fitbit count it...they are steps. I am also set up as sedentary. I am working in the yard today and I will count those steps too. (i still went to the gym for over 6 hours this week, so I don' do it in lieu of exercise. However, I count it)
  • Is anyone noticing an elevated heart rate? I am at 20g of carbs or less, and i have noticed that my cardio heart rate is about 10-15 beats per minute faster than it was two weeks ago doing the exact same cardio settings. I am not complaining...the heart rate monitor is showing a better burn. I figure it is the ketones,…
  • Cool...a wet t-shirt thread. ;-)
  • I dont think one will kill you. However, until the whole aspartame debate is settled I have decided to limit my occasional sodas to those using sucralose or Splenda. Pepsi One uses Sucralose (so does Shasta) If you look carefully, there is a Diet Coke version using Splenda. It is hard to find...saw it at Sams Club two…
  • I have been on meds or over 15 years and have tried to stop several times for years. Pills alone are not the answer, but when combined with exercise I find it provides the best quality of life. Exercise alone does not do it for me (I just tried again two weeks go). I think we'd all prefer not to take the meds, but at the…
  • Would you be open to protein supplements from vegetable sources?? Something like Sun Warrior would definitely taste better than tofu and help you get your minimums.
  • I screwed up this morning as well. Bought the highest quality, nitrate free chorizo sausage after visiting three stores. Did not see sugar, but on closer inspection I found Turbinado in the ingredients. Darnit!! The all natural bacon apparently has it too. Mine may not be 100 percent aligned, but it will be such a small…
  • If a guy who has Whiskey as his screen name can do it, count me in too!! Will be a new record for me.
  • I am only on day 2 of whole 30, but I am on day 8 of low carb induction so I already went thru that nasty induction flu. So far, the timeline from Whole 30 seems fairly accurate. I found this fascinating. http://whole9life.com/2012/06/the-whole30-timeline/ Hang in there....good things should be happening soon.
  • I think it is supposed to by .8 grams per pound of LEAN MUSCLE MASS. (Total weight less fat percentage)
