  • Our vegan protein powder is Sun Warrior (http://www.sunwarrior.com/). However, I've just switched to IsoPure Whey Isolate as I have heard that the protein is more accessible to the body than the vegan versions. A lot of options out there...just sharing my brands.
  • OK...i'm in with the only exception that i want to continue weighing and tracking progress in MFP. I am a scale addict. I will drop alcohol, dairy and artificial sweeteners. I am not totally familiar with Whole 30' so i will read up today.
  • Does your Costco have grass fed beef or free range chicken?? I looked last weekend and did not see anything?
  • I really like Sprouts, especially on Wednesdays since the run the new ads nd he previous ads at the same time. Great produce, and great produce prices!! Whole Foods is nice if you are shopping with someone else's credit card.
  • Reminder of a great motorcycle ride thru the Giant Redwoods in Northern California.
  • I just switched to Vegenaise. Very close in taste to mayo. Can be found in the refrigerated section. http://www.followyourheart.com/
  • This one is more Primal than low calorie, bit I really like it. I used Grape Seed oil and Flax Seed oil as my oils. Source. http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/russian_dressing.html RUSSIAN DRESSING 6 tablespoons granular Splenda or equivalent liquid Splenda 1/4 cup plus 2 teaspoons white vinegar 1/2 cup oil 1/2 cup low carb…
  • It is the "net" calorie that your body has taken in today. The amount you have eaten less any you have burned thru exercise.
  • Reduced sugar Heinz. Only 1 carb per serving vs 5 in original. Heinz® Reduced Sugar Ketchup (14-oz.) This Ketchup recipe has 75 percent less sugar than our classic Ketchup, but 100 percent of that rich tomato flavor. Just like all Heinz® Ketchup varieties, it contains no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. And the…
  • Making progress... 239 carbs on Thursday before I started Day 1 - easy. 24 carbs, but probably too much protein. Day 2 - 19g of carbs.brutal migraine, sour mood, and sleeplessness. Did manage to exercise, but did not seem to help (headache got worse). Day 3 - 13g of carbs. very very slight headache and no energy...but good…
  • Do you think that exercise to burn up glycogen will speed up the carb flu or make it worse? If i can burn up the glycogen, I'm wondering if the body will move a little faster to start converting fat and protein. Seeing different opinions out there. Very surprised to see an actual migraine coming out of this...I get them…
  • There is a Paleo group that you can join in MFP. I suggest joining the group and reading the history. I have been doing the same thing and I have learned a lot from that group.
  • Thanks!! Hopefully day 3 will be better. I will definitely add some veggies up to the 20g of carbs level.
  • You can customize your goals. Go to the FOOD tab, click SETTINGS below that, then GOALS. You have the option to customize your oals by lowering carbs and increasing fat.
  • I weigh daily, and the results do affect my mood. Yes, I am obsessed. I just ordered a body fat monitor...hopefully that will be a better measure of progress. I know that I am putting on some muscle with my training, so that gives me some "excuse" when I don't like the results that day.
  • The gym that I go to uses a Omron HBF-306C Fat Loss Monitor. It is a small handheld deice or about 29 dollars..just ordered one or myself from Amazon. My trainer is much more concerned with body fat percent than weight.
  • So if I am a newbie trying to start ketosis under 30 carbs, can I ignore calories and still lose weight if I exceed my MFP calorie targets?? Any thoughts there?? I hear that a higher fat intake can shorten he carb flu period.

  • I am on Day 1 following the Primal Blueprint. I did the Atkins plan a few years ago and felt great, so I am going to try to jumpstart my weight lss with some ketosis beore adding healthy carbs into my diet. Here is where I am struggling... With MFP, do I need to even concern myself with calories with a PB plan?? It seems…
  • Isopure Whey Protein isolate here. I buy t online at Vitacost to keep the cost down. 160 calores, no carbs, no gluten, and 40g of protein in 20oz.
  • My wife and I both quit in March of this year ( carton per week) and people always say "Don't you feel so much better"??? Problem is, I have noticed no difference except for the fact that I don't wheeze when I breathe at night. My wife says the same thing. I am just curious...in what ways have you noticed any improvements.…
  • I just ordered a Polar FT60 to help track my HR during cycling and daily activities. I can't give you a review yet, but I definitely don't trust the calorie counts on the workout machines. Polar seems to have great reviews and a lot of experience with HRMs. Their website also has a helpful tool to identify the right model…
  • Now THAT'S funny!! I think the first date or two should be on whomever asked the other out. After that, sharing the bills or alternating tabs just shows respect for the other person.
  • You're good BusyGymMom! Iim guessing 26...putting mom in the name may have thrown me. Oh, and I really am big boned despite denials by my spouse, doctor and trainer. ;-) (darnit...I just looked at your profile...someone else guess...I blew it)
  • Lyxus 27 Dvl 23
  • Thanks Lyxus. made me feel good for a retired guy.
  • We have tried several almost every brand of gluten free sandwich bread...all very disappointing until we tried the Whole Foods Light Sandwich Bread". It was the closest we have found to real bread as long as you toast it. Found that Udis makes good buns, but the sandwich bread was disappointing. If you have a Whole Foods…
  • Chebe pizza crust is awesome!!!. My wife is gluten intolerant, so we tried chebe. I liked it more than my normal crust recipes. If you have a pizza craving...it works great!!!
  • My sugar is usually high too, but I think using the generic term "sugar" doesn't really allow for an accurate representation of what we are eating. Below is a clip from another site...so as long as I keep my sugar sources from low Glycemic Index items (fruits and honey) and avoid table sugar and high fructose corn syrup, I…
  • My wife is gluten intolerant so I feel your pain...we moved to corn tortillas a few months ago. I have to ask...are you eating them cold or directly from the package? Mission corn tortillas and most of the corn tortillas are not that bad as long as you warm them up in a frying pan sprayed with Pam. I actually try to get…
