Hi, I have been way off of my healthy journey, so I have ignored MFP for quite a while. I believe you are smart, and quite capable of reaching your goals. Being a mum is very distracting, and so is work, and everything else! I find I have the best success when I set mini goals, and keep on going. You can do it!

Hi! Late welcome, as I have been way too involved in my work. ;-}

Hi there! Welcome (a little late)!

All.The.Time. What are you experiencing? How are you handling it?
-
We're not the most active Group, but I'm hoping it picks up.

344!

Hmmm. I'll look into it.

I haven't heard of it. What is it?

Your story really touched me. How inspiring! I lost my mom to breast cancer, and my dad to heart attack/Type 2 Diabetes. It's so hard to lose those you love, and with my dad, it was avoidable. I made a change so I wouldn't leave my son too soon. Thank you for posting your story, and good luck on your triathlon! You will be…

I have lost 91. 91 + 2830 = 2921

Another vote for the Vitamix. $399 for mine, and I get to make payments as I got it from QVC. When the Ninja's and Nuttrabullets break, my Vitamix will still be a hard working smoothie machine! It also makes hot soup, and grinds coffee & nuts & spices, and so on... But good luck in whatever you choose!

I use Vital Whey, Natural flavor as it has no soy, or sweeteners. From grass-fed cows. It has a neutral taste. A bit spendy, but I'm happy with it. I also use Nutiva Organic Hemp Protein Hi-Fiber, as I like the extra fiber and Potassium in it.

Rockin' my tat!

If you can do it on your own, why not avoid surgery?

Hi Rachel! Welcome to the group!

Yes! I've read them all. Starts with Clan of the Cave Bear. The Valley of Horses was my favorite.

God I hope so!

Hi! I'm 5' 3.5", and started Jan, 2012 at 240 pounds. I'm at 156 today. I'm in a size 8 (some 10), and a M in tops/coats. The funny thing is that I'm smaller at this weight than I was 20 years ago when I weighed the same. That's because I started working out immediately when I started my new healthy lifestyle. I started…

For me, I have to live in an environment where that kind of food is not around. And, I need to have good healthy food available so I make good choices. Not easy, but you can do it if you really try. You won't be "perfect" all the time, but if you are "perfect" most of the time, you will see changes.

Hi Don! Welcome! It's a way of life, just like they say. But what I find that helps is not so much the elimination of certain foods/drinks, but the addition of activity, and the addition of whole, healthy foods. They kind of push the not so good stuff out. So much of this is mental!

Do what you can to keep it simple. Also, get outside and get plenty of fresh air, and sun, if possible. Keep away from processed foods with any food coloring in them, as that has been proven to affect those with ADHD, especially the kids. Just try to eat as clean as you can, and get some activity, and track everything you…

There are natural arnica tablets you can take before your workout to reduce the soreness. Just Google it. My dr. recommended them to me.

Hi! Welcome to the group! I keep it interesting by trying different recipes often. I also tend to eat the same things a lot, so having variety once in a while is good. I also eat when I'm bored, so I have to vary my workouts too. For cooking, spices help me stay interested, like trying a curry, or something spicy,…

I'm right there with you! I have about 25 to go, and this month has been tough! I know what you mean about wanting to just be there, and starting maintenance. But here's a way to look at it... I (and maybe you too) have wanted to just be "normal" again. Well, isn't this fairly normal? People often indulge over the…

My absolute favorite is Theo 85% Organic Fair Trade dark chocolate. They used to make a 91% that I tried, and it was a bit too bitter for me. Though it was great in my turkey chili! They aren't producing that 91% any longer. The 85% is wonderful, I highly recommend it.

This is just what I needed! Thank you for sharing!
