It's not just a blanket 500 cals per day. Its a restricted diet where you can only have certain foods. I was once a scale addict too. I haven't stepped on it in two weeks! My trick is I hid the scale in the closet behind my clothes hamper! Out of sight, out of mind!

I also have lost 20lbs. I started a (tight) size 14 now I am a loose size 12. I am not small enough to move into a 10 yet, but I am still actively working on my weight loss. Thanks for the input. I will continue to research it. I appreciate that people have tried it and have had success. I'm no necessarily looking for a quick fix (although that would be great) but it is interesting to learn about other methods of losing weight.

Yes thanks for the info. I wasn't seriously considering it, I was more interested in what people thought and if anyone had tried it. My first thought as I am reading your post, is maybe you need to change your workout regime. It sounds like perhaps your body has hit a plateau. My second thought is, are you drinking enough fluids and keeping your body hydrated as your workout. Congrats on your wedding by the way!!! I hope your body reacts like the way…

I wish I could offer you more motivation. I joined the Y about 4 weeks ago and have never went. I have started walking/jogging in the evenings though. Let me know what you discover, so I can be motivated too!
