I have a Polar FT and use it for HRM and calorie counting. I believe it is water-proof to certain depth, but don't quote me on that :) I paid $65 for it on amazon last year and it still works perfectly.

I have the Polar FT4 also. I've noticed that if I don't change the speed and/or incline on the treadmill, my calorie burns are pretty close. When I vary my treadmill workout, my HRM is usually 50 -75 calories burned LESS than what the treadmill states. When I use the arc trainer, my HRM calories are usually over 100…

as soon as I went from the MFP rec of 1200/day to my tdee recommended minus 20% I started losing weight. I find it slower, but in the long run slow and steady wins the race :) good luck!

I don't think it matters. I have a large diet coke from McDonald's five mornings a week (not sure what it is, but McDs Diet Coke is the best), anyway...I drink water the rest of the day and don't really crave DC other than in the morning. I used to drink it all day and no bloat for me, but it definitely bloats my husband…

Looks good to me, just don't eat your workout calories back unless you are below your BMR. I was having a hard time at first with TDEE, but if I follow it, I lose. When I don't follow, I don't lose. Good Luck!! :)

I was never a water fan, but now I CRAVE it. I mean, all the time. I do have a diet coke every morning, but water for the rest of the day. It definitely helps with weight loss.

Do a search on the forums for TDEE & BMR and the in place of a road map...I've been doing this and have lost about 1.5 per week when I track and follow consistently. Good luck!!

I read something recently about using vaseline. I'd rather wear capri workout pants and sweat my *kitten* off before I'd wear shorts :)

I didn't lose much the first week and I have over 100 to lose to be at a healthy, recommended weight. I think you should see how the second week goes before rushing to judgement. I make sure to net 1300 calories a day and I work out 4-5 times a week. Welcome to MFP & GOOD LUCK :)

I had back surgery 3 1/2 years ago and just this year I've started getting pain down my leg and lower back around the time of my period. I just take some Advil and I feel fine.
