Can I ask a dumb question? What type of plates are those? When I first started, I was using non-olympic plates. Because they were so close to the ground, it was really difficult to do deads at heavier weights. I switched to olympic plates, but they still don't seem any taller. Does that make sense?

I have a Garmin 305, which includes a heart monitor. I've never worn it, so I cannot give you feedback on the HM. I do love it for pace and setting my intervals, etc.

I had 8 miles on Sunday and I ran pretty hard. My legs were so sore that I could not do my Monday workout. It's not too bad during the week, since I am only doing 5-6 miles. I keep the same weight. I am at 105lbs for squats and I'm sure it's really going to make a difference the closer I get to race day. I may end up…

I am also a runner, training for my 5th half. I still do the 3x\week, but I have shorter runs during the week. SL is MWF and I run on T and TH, with my long run on Sunday. I would say dropping down isn't a bad thing. I will stick to 3x\week until I get closer to my race next month.

I can only go parallel. Even doing body weight only, parallel is as far I can go without falling backwards. This has been an issue since birth....

My best time is 31:48, which I achieved this past weekend. My goal is to run a sub-30.
-
Or want to do. At this point, I have no desire to run an entire half. :-) I've gotten a lot faster than I thought I would using interval training and I think I'll stick to it.

Yep.

I know plenty of sub 2:15\2:30 run\walkers. Don't let anyone tell you, you have to run to be fast. Besides finishing the race, there's nothing more satisfying than passing the pace groups as I'm doing my run\walk intervals. Run your race, not anyone else's....

I have one from the GAP and one from Old Navy. Both are long enough to wear with a heel. I'm 5'11".

I hate tights shirts and I've never had an issue with finding something fairly cute to workout in. Nike has several Dri Fit options that are relaxed fit. I have found several tank tops that are either relaxed fit or a bit flowy. I either pair them with my running shorts or with compression or or running tights.

With a group during training runs. I would never run otherwise...

I have asthma and run half marathons. I am on Advair daily and I also take my inhaler before my runs, especially if it''s cold. There was a cold front (and crazy wind) the day of my last half I ran a few weeks ago. Even after taking all precautions, I had an attack at mile two. I was able to fight through it, but I really…

No reason you can't walk\run if your calf is healed enough. I know plenty of people that have walked a half marathon.

I run half marathons in mine and have not had any issues. I am about to purchase my third pair. I've tried other brands, but Nike is the only brand that actually fit my feet. I was fitted to these by a running store.

I run with people of all shapes and sizes. IMO, there is no need to lose weight before hand. Like someone else mentioned, experiment with different fueling methods on your training runs. That way you'll have a good systems down by the time your race rolls around. My blood sugar tends to drop after 10 miles. I had to switch…

I run with a group through a local running store We run 3 days\week with 1 extra day of running if you desire and cross training. The program is 12+ weeks. My group does 5 miles twice a week and long runs on Sunday. I think we started at 9 miles for the long run. The max mileage is 14 miles. We also mix in hill work and…

I'm a fan of the Jeff Galloway method and I do run\walk. I enjoy my walk breaks and I'm not ashamed to say so. I've thought about moving to a pace group, but I'd rather work on improving my half marathon time.

I didn't get to ride much when I was in college. I only rode once a week. I needed to get that equine fix, so I volunteered for a therapeutic riding center. The best choice I ever made. Now I can get that equine fix whenever I want!

My calves are 15 inches as well. I also have big thighs, but I love skinny jeans. The ones that fit me best are, True Religion, Paige, 7FAMK, Tommy Girl and Levis. As you know, not all skinney jeans are created equal. Eventhough, these are my favorite brands, I had to try different washes and such to get the best fit. My…

I always wear a helmet. To me, putting on a helmet is just as natural as buckling my seat belt.

There are several retailers looking for folks to hire for the holiday season.

I've lost 30lbs and I still feel fat. I thought I would feel great after losing that weight, and I did at first. Now I'm not satisfied. Maybe a tummy tuck would solve that....;-)

I have a Shock Absorber that I just got. My "go-to" bra is the Wacoal Sports Bra #855170. You can wear it like regular bra or you can criss-cross of extra support. It's a challenge to get into when you criss cross the straps.
-
My initial weight loss was 30lbs and I saw NO change. I am a 36H and I've found 2 sports bras that I like. I now only have to use 1 bra while I ride or run.

I run 3-4 days per week 20-25 miles per week fitness level: intermediate

45 minutes is not horrible, btw..... I do run\walk, but here's a tip that was given to me. As the distance gets longer, I tend to get a bad running form. My current coach suggests concentrate on fixing something during each run interval. My shoulders tend to slump, especially when I run hills. During my run interval, I…

I've been running for almost a year and I love it.. The first couple of miles are tough, but I settle in after that. I run between 20-25 miles per week. Running is social for me. I look forward to running with the group. Sure, I get aches and pains but it goes away. The hardest part about running is putting my feet on the…

Another vote for lining up within your pace. Just because you run\walk doesn't mean you need to line up in the back. If your pace warrants lining up in the middle, do so. I run\walk and line up in the middle of the pack. My first 5K was the Turkey Trot last year in Dallas. I ran it with a friend. I was 2 miles in before I…
