Weight watchers is great. And you are less likely to cheat when someone else is weighing you. If you are strong enough and disciplined enough to do it on your own then this site is a great tool. As for beach body I love Chalene Johnson. Chalene Extreme is an easier program in my opinion. It helps build muscle without the…

My polar ft7 just started doing this too and I just changed the battery. But I have had mine for several years without any problems. I am thinking about upgrading to the polar ft40. Any thoughts?

FYI- The fitbit can be a great tool but it is not accurate for all types of activities. It is best for walking/running as it measures steps and distance. If you are weight lifting or doing workout videos the fitbit cannot detect all types of movement and will underestimate your calorie burn. If you are wanting to get an…

Just started Turbo Fire this week and already love it. I actually did the 5 day inferno last week and lost 3 pounds in 5 days! Today is my rest day and can't to jump back in tomorrow.

Actual age is 34 Metabolism age is 55. Thank you so much for the information. This was a huge help. I will enter my age as 55 on my HRM and adjust the max heart rate to 186 and see how many calories on burn on the same walk tonight.

I have the Polar FT7. I entered my correct age weight and heights and went for a 2.95 mile walk yesterday and average 3 mph. My HRM said I burned 525 calories. I think this amount is way too high. I completed the calculations per your instructions and found my age should be 55 even though I am only 34. If I change the age…

Correct! I know it sounds weird to eat more to lose weight but if you do not eat enough to support your bodily funtions and your activities you are doing more harm than good. Your body starts storing what little food you give it and you will not lose any weight.
-
willis84- You are not eating nearly enough and you will put your body in starvation mode. I went an entire month with no loss due to this. Read about this. You need to go to tools and determine your BMR. This is the amount of calories your body needs just to do all of the necessary functions. This the the bare minimum…

I do take measurements and saw no results there either. Based on the fitbit data I was in starvation mode and hopefully now I will start seeing some results. I would like to lose 20-25 pounds and live a healthier lifestyle. I try to drink 64 oz of water per day and I am aiming for 2 fruits and 3 veggies per day for a total…

Update: I have purchased a fitbit ultra and found that I was not eating nearly enough. In the past 3 days I was given 1450 calories per day to eat with no exercise at all. I am back on track starting today and hoping that the fitbit is just what I needed!
-
I just ordered my fitbit so here is my question. I currently use a polar heart rate monitor when I exercise. Is the fitbit accurate as to the calories burned or should I continue to use my heartrate monitor during exercise and overide the calories burned to match my polar hrm?

I did my first spin class and later that night and the next day were horrible. The following week I went to my second class and again I bruised but it was not nearly as bad. I would say stick with it! It is a great workout and lots of fun.
