  • Yesterday was our 40th wedding anniversary so we went out for supper. Nothing fancy - just to the new Boston Pizza in town. I ate lightly all day and researched the menu. I ordered the starter Ceasar salad at 240 calories and the pollo pasta marinara from the health check menu at 470 calories. I had a 6 ounce glass of red…

  • Hello everyone. I am back again!!! I stopped taking tamoxifen. The side effects were greater than the benefits vis a vis return of The cancer. I feel like my old self again - more energy - better mood. I stacked wood yesterday. Wouldn't have been able to do that before. Took a long walk with the dog, planted flowers,…

  • Wow groggy this morning. Should do some time on elliptical to wake up before breakfast. I noticed that I haven't updated my measurements in 3 years. I was dismayed to learn that I had gained 4 inches everywhere even though my weight is not up very much from then. I guess as I age (and haven't exercised for year) any muscle…
  • It is hard to sit and wait Joyce. Don't tire yourself out too much. You need to take care of yourself too.
  • What about a yogurt parfait. With some chopped nuts. Or a whole wheat tortilla with lite cream cheese rolled up
  • Thanks for the comments, it is supposed to be Susan. I just did 15 minutes on the elliptical. They say exercise helps with the tiredness and I do feel better. I will do another 15 minutes later. Baby steps. I live in Ontario Canada across the st Lawrence river from Massena new. York. So walking outside is hit and miss. I…
  • How many times can one start over. I have just completed 15 of 25 radiation treatments for breast cancer. The only weight I have lost is the 2 pounds they removed from my breasts to cut out the cancer. At least now I have perky c cups instead of droopy double dad's and the cancer is all gone. So I am one of the lucky ones.…
  • not only did I not lose weight this week 'I actually gained half a pound. I am feeling very stressed waiting for the surgery on Nov 26 so perhaps that is why. YOu mix together a box of Angel food cake mix and any other flavour you want (I used chocolate) and store it in an airtight container. when you want a little 80 calorie cake you put 3 tablespoons of the cake mix in a mug, add 2 tablespoons of water, stir it until blended and microwave it for 1…
  • Mimi - welcome back and happy birthday. I too just started back. I had a wake up call. I had surgery on May 8 to remove breast cancer - lumpectomy in both breasts. It was very small and very early stage. So I decided that I must lose the weight, exercise more, drink less alcohol, eat an anti-cancer diet, stress less and…
  • Joyce - you and chocolate is just like me and potato chips. Except I don't think chips can ever be considered a health food - but heh there is potassium in them!!! That's my story and I am sticking to it.
  • Rebamae I too suffer from insomnia some times. they say that can make you hang on to weight. that's my story and I'm sticking to it. My incisions are much better and I am walking every day.
